great sized room

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: classic, but in need of some refurbishment.
Cons: curtains did not close tightly, light came in the room.
Location: close to tianamen square.
staff are pleasant but no doorman to assist with transport, the bellboy had to run outside to assist. came back at 12m and there was vomit next to the elevator lobby on my room floor. was cleaned up by 7am the next morning.

Close to forbidden palace

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms are dated. Put coffee packets in the room. Not just tea.
Location: Palaces, Tiannanmen square, lots of dining
Thought the deposit was a little steep. Don't arrange for a ride to the airport with their car. About six times more than a taxi, 117 yuan regular taxi, 650 for hotel's, And they will get the taxi for you. Rooms are kinda dated

Wonderful hotel

Posted Jul 21, 2014
I can't think of any hotel I've enjoyed more than Raffles. Our room was enormous and beautiful. The hotel is suffused with history. And the staff were so welcoming. We stayed two nights, then checked out to spend a night camping on the Great Wall, then checked back in for a night. When we returned we were welcomed back by name by several staff members who seemed genuinely happy to see us, and were given the same luxurious room we'd had previously. John the a Raffles ambassador was a fascinating man to talk to, full of advice about the city and knowledge about the hotel. I couldn't recommend it more highly. We asked for a room overlooking the main street and were pleased.

Great Hotel

The Raffles Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a great location. We could easily walk to so many places. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. Mr. Spooner was exceptionally helpful with great suggestions of places to visit or eat at. We would definitely stay there again if we are ever so lucky to return.

Perfect hotel in perfect location

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: It has style and a unique character. They make you feel welcome
Location: The hotel is ideally positioned for local sightseeing being only a 5 minute walk from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
Raffles in Beijing is one of the grand hotels in the world where they just know how to do things properly. The rooms are well appointed and large with comfortable bedding. The staff are friendly and bend over backwards to make things work. Excellent (but a little expensive) buffet breakfast.

Excellent hotel!

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The lobby is world class, the rooms are immaculate, the staff is unfailingly polite and helpful, and the location is excellent. What's not to like? It will definitely be at the top of my list when I go back to Beijing.
