Great location for business and shoppingPosted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: I liked the location and the amenities offered.
Cons: Rooms could come with breakfast or there could be options to order breakfast a la carte.
Location: I was on business and the Government offices were a short cab ride away. The shopping was nearby and the Silk Market was a cab ride away.
I visited Beijing on business with a group. We all got great rooms. We were pleased that the hotel could exchange our cash at competitive rates. The hotel staff was very helpful. The only drawback was the cost of breakfast at about US40.00 per day.

had a good timePosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: location is good, subway station downstairs
Cons: clean window and chairs
Location: a lot of tourist attractions near. above a subway station. wangfujing.
spacious room, hotel located in a good location. could see the forbidden city from my window. water, oj, coffee, coke and beer free in you room. although the hotel is in good condition its been awhile since its been renovated. my biggest problem is the chair is old and needs a good cleaning. and the window needs to be cleaned too. staff is very friendly. they'll sneak into your room as soon as you leave to clean up.
Disappointed by servicePosted Feb 3, 2014
This is my third time staying at the Regent - previously I have experienced great service, amongst comfortable 5-star stays. Perhaps due to Chinese new Year the hotel was understaffed... when I called for room service, the staff member who picked up did not speak English; when I used Chinese he was very rude, as if I was bothering him by calling. When my food arrived at 11pm, the trainee who delivered the food told me I had to pay for the bill in CASH! This is not normal for any 5-star hotel. In fact, in my prior trips to the Regent I have ordered room service at even later times and I could signed it to my room. Luckily I had cash, but what would have happened if I did not have any cash on me? Would I have had to walk downstairs on a cold February night to the office building next door to access the Bank of China ATM and then walk back to the hotel? I think it is the little details that leave a big impression on hotel guests. I'm sorry Regent, but I will not be staying here again.

Good rooms/facilties friendly/mediocre servicePosted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: The room design but i couldn't get the room temperature to what i wanted
Cons: The overall service of staff even though they were friendly
Location: Shops and restaurants walking distance
I spent about three nights here and whilst the facilities were good the staff service was not as good as previously stayed out hotels. For instance, when i was asking for information from the concierge, another employee stood beside us listening and kept on making exhaling and disgruntled noises as if to say "why do we have to explain these things to guests?" well at least thats what it felt like to me. The rooms were clean and room service food was good. Gym and pool facilties looked good. Staff were overall friendly but not as well trained as places such as The St. Regis.

If you're Expedia VIP they go extra mile!Posted Jan 12, 2014
Pros: staff had got the "can do" attitude" compared to other ones.
Location: wangfujing is like a boardwalk area with all the stores, restaurants, bars, and local ppl sightseeing. this is within 10 minutes walking distance.
everything was normal - checking in/needing concierge for small things etc, but when i extended my stay to 1 week they suddenly found out I'm an expedia VIP member and changed my room (bigger), and informed all the benefits (free shirt press/20% off restaurants..etc). now I am used to NOT get anything from being an Expedia VIP (I travel every week for work), so it came as a surprised. then on my last day I asked for a late check out since my flight was at 8:30pm, the front desk without hesitation told me it's fine to check out at 4:00pm - because i was an expedia VIP. This was a first, but i certainly will come back next time! nice to know it actually made a difference.

I love this hotel and it's staff.Posted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: The staff in general were simply fantastic. The Regent Club breakfast was outstanding and the hotel interior is great.
Cons: The waiting staff in the Regent Club at breakfast could use a bit more polish. The air conditioning during this surprisingly warm winter needs work.
Location: Wangfujing shopping road is great for shopping and Wangfujing Food Alley is... an interesting experience. The Forbidden City is a short walk away.
I've stayed in many hotels around the world and the staff at the Regent were by far the best I've ever dealt with. They were friendly and helpful and my departure left me feeling like I was leaving a group of friends behind. The breakfast was simply outstanding and the rest of the facilities were great. The price was completely reasonable for the quality of the experience.

Excellent Hotel located near subway stationPosted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: The hotel was located near a subway station making it conveniently accessible. Reception offered late check-out when told of my evening flight.
Cons: More English speaking staff could be employed.
Location: Walking distance from Wangfujing street.
