“great in many ways!”

it was a great place to stay. although must mention a strange experience. we asked the concierge to book the acrobats for us and surely enough they did, but we had to pay cash in advance (couldn't charge to room)and charged us a return taxi fare as they had to go and get the tickets themselves.

“Business comfort in art gallery setting”

This hotel is similar to other large hotels in the ShangriLa group, that is to say modern, gracious, and comfortable. The incredible art collection, in both public and guest rooms, distinguishes it from other hotels. It is convenient, polished, and lovely. And each member of the staff I met was extremely helpful and professional.

“looking a little tired”

A large and rather impersonal hotel which is starting to show signs of age in the public areas. However neither the room comforts, cleanliness or staff willingness to help can be faulted. I doubt if the choice of eating facilities within the hotel would leave any international guest displeased with regard to price,quality and overall choice. Late afternoon tea is an absolute must in the main reception to experience both hotel guests and Beijing residents enjoying the musical accompaniment.Ideally situated for fast access by subway to the major attractions and shopping malls. The health club facities are indeed worthy of a 5 star.

“excellent choice for a discerned traveller”

This hotel has style on the inside which is a nice surprize and retreat from the bustling and busy Beijung outside. People are extremely helpful and the hotel tries to maintain class very well. It is connected to a shopping area - and there is a lot to do there if you have extra time beyong sightseeing. My only "grudge" is the buffet breakfast - could be a little "fancier" for the hotel class. Also - the vehicular access to this hotel is somehow complicated because of the series of ramps and detours you have to take that lead you out of the expressway. I would recommend though as a good choice for a picky traveller.

“Killing the Brand!”

Worst customer service ever from Shangri-La, and I'm a club member. Management would not honor quoted rate for a one day add'l stay during major LOW season. What a horrible way to treat business customers - not any way to generate brand/customer service loyalty!

The China World Hotel is terribly run down. I lived there for 8 years and find it extremely disappointing this time. The restaurants are terrible and they close very early.
