“Fantastic place to stay while in Beijing”

The Shin Jia House was a perfect place to stay while exploring Beijing...the service was great. They went above and beyond to make everything easy, especially with coordinating transport to visit the sites. The room we had was very comfortable and great antiques. It was a unique place to stay and we could recommend it to anyone!

“a lovely botique hotel”

Well situated 5 minutes from the line 5 metro, and 10-15 minutes from a number of interesting traditional and everyday resturants with very reasonable food. The hotel was quiet, with a very nice interior courtyard. The staff was most helpful with directions. Using the Airport Express it was possible to get to the hotel for under 30 Yuan, however moving heavy suitcases through the metro is difficult because of the presence of many stairs, sometimes without parallel escalators or elevators. Otherwise a great system. Taxi drivers have a difficulty in finding the hotel, but once you have been there, there is not trouble finding your way back.

“elegant and quiet”

We are travellers from Australia who have spent a lot of time in China. We were looking for a hotel that was high quality but not a standard boring tower block that could be anywhere. Shi Jia House compeltely fitted this. the rooms around the courtyard were beautifully fitted out with antiques, and yet I cuold still get wireless internet to do my work! It was 5 minutes walk from the subway, and a 20 min walk from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The staff were warm and helpful. We highly recommend it if you want something different from the global could-be-anywhere hotels that most people stay in. 10/10.
