Review of Sofitel Wanda Beijing

Posted Jan 5, 2014
I had a pleasant stay at the Sofitel Wanda Beijing. The hotel is well situated for tourist needs. There are several restaurant options onsite and near by. The staff was excellent and extremely attentive. This would be my hotel of choice when visiting Beijing.

Great location and services

Posted Nov 17, 2013
Easy access to business areas, shopping and eating. Staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. Subway is about 5-minute walk, food court is next, taxi is awaiting beside and staff will assist you to call taxi. Room is very new, clean and comfortable. It is absolutely worth of the dollar I paid.

I can recommend this hotel

Posted Nov 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
There are so many contradictory reviews. Here's the deal: this hotel in Chaoyang is very nice. I got a reasonable price for a hotel so centrally located. Inexpensive Chinese or KFC breakfast is right across the street (use the pedestrian overpass). Any Westerner will find this hotel acceptable, at least as of October 2013. Convenient also to the Beijing subway.

Great hotel, super service

It is a great hotel, located with good access to trains and cabs. The food choices are however challenging at the hotel for vegetarians or Indians. The rooms are very good, and the concierge is very friendly and helpful for translations and language assistance for directions. An IMAX theatre and walmart next door make it pretty convenient a stay. Highly recommended both for business and leisure stays. Will stay here again.

Nice hotel - don't eat breakfast there

Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: The room was nice and clean
Cons: The breakfast buffet needs major improvements in menu selection and service.
The hotel is fine BUT the price of breakfast is extremely expensive and the food service is bad. The breakfast buffet staff seemed overwhelmed. The wait to get an omelet was about fifteen minutes. They put out one serving of bacon when they opened and never replenished it. Even though it is an international hotel and the majority of their guests are non-Chinese, most of their breakfast items were things that Americans wouldn't eat. Getting coffee was difficult and getting a refill was impossible. Finding drinking water was an adventure. Having a giant picture window from the bathroom to the bedroom is about the dumbest idea anyone ever came up with.

Nice hotel - excellent, very serviceminded staff

Posted Oct 16, 2013
Cons: It definitely could be improved with the horrible price to access gym/sauna. RMB 480 in entrance fee is absolutely ridiculous
Very nice hotel. Centrally located in Chaoyang District. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Only minus is the horrible rate to enter gym/sauna
