No final bill / receiptPosted Nov 26, 2013
Room was pretty clean and staff was helpful but at the rate paid the rating should be an OK. However, they won't give me a final bill / receipt, saying I reserved the room from Expedia so they couldn't provide me anything, not even a printout proving my stay in that place! This is causing me a big problem in reimbursing the costs. I have used Expedia for hotels everywhere and never had this nonsense!

Safe and secure property. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Not easy to find find if you don't know where it is... most cabs did'nt know the street nor the hotel. The entrance is in a small alley. Hard to get a cab at times. A block away from subway station, 7-11 across the street... location is decent if you need to be in the area. Booked one bedroom to share with a friend. Bathroom wall was all glass, and you actually have to pull the curtin from the bedroom for privacy in the bathroom. Facilities were good overall. Washer, dryer, kitchen and all... a huge plus.

Value for Money Serviced Apartment Close To UniPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: Comfortable rooms, value for money, in a safe, convenient location close to subway, giving cheap, quick access to the rest of the city.
Cons: A few more coffee, tea & sugar sachets during a 10 day stay (only 3 or 4 provided) and replenishment of soap more than every 5 days!
We chose this hotel/serviced apartment for our visit to Beijing to visit our daughter whilst studying at BFSU - just a short taxi ride away. It was an indeal location, felt very safe, just a short walk to the subway, with its cheap, frequent, clean trains. It is also a short distance by train to the Summer Palace & Fragrant Hills; Beijing Zoo and with easy access to the rest of the City. The rooms were clean, spacious, had plenty of wardrobe space & provided us with full cooking facilities, a dining table and washing machine. There was plenty of room for a roll-away bed when required. Staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. Great pool. Convenience store close by, together with choice of good restaurants. Would certainly return to this Hotel.

Pros: Great staff. Very helpful with good English skills. Bugged them with multiple questions every day of my three-day stay and they were champs.
Cons: The room was well-equipped but in really poor condition. Stained carpet and poorly maintained bathroom.

Nice serviced apartment near subwayPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: Home away from home, swimming pool, close to subway, friendly staff
Cons: Wi-fi could be tested prior to guest arrival.
Location: Close to universities, academy of science, electronic shops, zoo and Summer Palace. Eat at PizzaHut and Peking Duck Quan Ju De -Qing Hua restaurant
With the pollution level very high outside, we spent some of our time in the swimming pool and kids play area.

Amazing StaffPosted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Whilst the location is not ideal, the staff are amazing, especially Crystal who was so accommodating during our stay. We had fallen ill and Crystal was supportive and assisted us in completing transactions, she also built up a wonderful rapport with our children. Crystal is a true asset to the Somerset Organisation.

Great residence hotel -clean and spacious!Posted Jun 11, 2013
Pros: Clean, spacious, and amenities provided
Cons: Transparent glasses for one toilet
Location: Good location to visit universities in this area or travel to Yihuayuan, but it may take some time travel to the center, north or east part of Beijing
We loved this residence hotel. It was above our expectation. We had difficulty to find a hotel with double beds in Beijing. We stayed in a two-bedroom with two bathrooms. One bedroom was spacious with a full bathroom and tub, and the other bathroom had a shower and a washing machine. They even provided detergent which we didn't get to use. It was a little strange though that a full bathroom had a toilet outside a tub with transparent glasses. The other bedroom was smaller but I loved that it has multiple shelves on one wall. We had a large living room and a kitchen. They had full sets of dishware and silverware plus detergent for washing dishes. We bought detergent not having noticed it. They even come every day or every other day to clean and wash dishes for us! It happened twice while we stayed there for three nights. It is about 5-10 minute walk away from a station and Carrefour is within walking distance too. A convenience store is in the next block. Yihuayuan is only 25 min away by a subway too. It is not located in the center of Beijing so it may take a little more time travel to the center, north or east part of Beijing, though. Breakfast was fairly good. We received 6 tickets counting two bedrooms for 2 tickets although we had three people. We enjoyed having our own breakfast with a variety of fruit we bought from Carrefour. Their communication in English can be limited but they have at least one staff fluent in English. Overall I highly recommend this hotel.

mixture of good and not so goodPosted Jun 2, 2013
Pros: Spacious and near subway
Cons: Smoke odour in my room
Location: Can Walk to the subway.
Spacious, comfortable and well located but left my clothes smelling of cigarette smoke. The kitchen is quite useful if you need it. The bed is comfortable and the lounge room was spacious. Well priced and very secure with a good pool and reasonable gym. The breakfast was Spartan at best but came with a picnic style option to take breakfast with you for the morning. Great for families but you need a room that doesn't have the typical smoke odour that many Chinese hotels are prone to.
