The hotel is nice. It sits by itself, in front of a canal in a wooded area. Not much surrounds the hotel.
But cab drivers don't want to go there. One driver told me the location was confusing. I had to pay a cabbie some extra incentive to take me there. You should probably call the hotel from the taxi to obtain directions for the driver.
I reserved a superior room, which was big and clean. Breakfast was good. For the best price, you should book the breakfast on-line.
During my stay, the pollution index in Beijing zoomed up into the dangerous level. Thus, I didn't go outside the hotel, except in the early morning. But in back of Traders is a canal and plenty of trees. It's quite nice and peaceful there.

My seven-day stay at Shangri-La was wonderful and everything I expected from a 5-star hotel. Another nice perk was that in-room wi-fi was free. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only minor downside is that the hotel is located about a 20 minute walk from the nearest subway station.
Another tip -- there is a nice local supermarket called Uni-Mart located about a 5 minute walk from the hotel (exit the front entrance and make a right) where you can get any food/household items for relatively cheap prices.
