A Bad Experience

After a 2 month stay in China, I reserved this hotel through Expedia for my last night in the country. It was advertised as near the airport, and it was reasonably cheap (for an american hotel, expensive for a Chinese one). The first problem I ran into, was that in all of the Expedia confirmations, not once was the actual Chinese name of the hotel and its address printed. While I can read pinyin, my average Chinese cab driver had no clue where to go, thus I spent an hour in a cab weaving around the airport with the driver stopping periodically to ask people on the street if they knew where it was. The telephone numbers given were also inoperable. Also, the fee for the hotel room was exorbitant for the quality of the room. At the very least I expected it to be clean, if not actually nice, but the shower room was incredibly grungy, and the door to the room itself didn't even lock without the deadbolt. If you don't know Chinese or you have any other options, I would not select this hotel. Staying a bit further away from the airport is no problem, and probably is much cheaper.
