A room with a viewPosted Jan 14, 2012 on Hotels
We stayed at Almond Blooms for just one night so I probably can't comment with great authority on all aspects of service. The welcome by staff as nice, very friendly. We were shown to our double room, which was immaculate. However, despite there being numerous switches, only the main bedroom light worked. The same for the bathroom. So it was bright lights all around. There was one bedside lamp but no matter where we plugged it in, it didn't work. When we turned out the lights for bed the main bedroom light would flicker. Not great. We couldn't open the one main window, I think there was once a handle but that had gone. Also, when we went out for dinner, the door handle fell out of the bedroom door....there was a second door though so the room was secure. The bizarre thing was upon turning out all the lights and going to sleep we could hear a ticking sound, like a clock. We discovered in the end that it was coming from the wall! These are things that I guess you can put up with for a night but the owners wouldn't have to do much to make the accommodation really lovely. The location is fantastic and the view from our bedroom was brilliant, you could see all of Beirut. I would definitely stay there again but would prefer it if they made just those little changes, they would make a big difference.

Almond Blooms Guest House in Zouk Mikael LebanonPosted Oct 4, 2011 on Hotels
The location was a complete surprise, sitting on top of a hill - Zouk Mikael. Located next to Old Souk, the neighborhood has an artsy / old world charm and is very quiet. The staff consisting of Pascal, Nidaa and a few others (sorry I do not have their names) along with Hicham have made sure that the stay was comfortable. Especially, Hicham who had been constantly checking to see if I needed any help especially with the Sightseeing plans. Though the hotel appears to be remote, is well connected with the help of taxi service (especially Elegance Taxi who have been the most reasonable in terms of fares and prompt in service) and is only minutes away from the cafes and pubs of Jounieh and Maamaltein. I did not try Food Delivery, however did see restaurants deliver food in the vicinity. Room and facilities were cosy and clean. Negatives WiFi Internet facilities were not satisfactory, however that is a problem with the whole of Lebanon at present.
