“Excellent hotel at great price”

I am not sure where any remotely negative reviews of the Bristol have come from. It was one of the cheapest hotels that came up in my search on Expedia, and I had read some comments that rooms were not in great condition and beds were old and broken. I chose it partly because of the price and partly because it didn't look too far from the sea front and was not expecting too much in the way of comfort in the room. What I found was a room something akin to Hiltons I have seen in London, with no luxuries in particular but large, clean and comfortable rooms. The location was ideal for me, around a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Corniche, 2 or 3 minutes from the shops and bars in and around Hamra. The nightlife of Gemmayze and Achrafieh is a short taxi ride or 30 minute walk away also. If you want a luxury hotel in Beirut with its own beach club then you will have to pay a good deal more and maybe the Bristol is not for you but if you want somewhere well located, clean and comfortable, it is ideal. I had read some comments about noise, yet I heard nothing bar the call to prayer. Most interesting feature is the toilet with jet of water, dryer and heated seat! Staff are incredibly helpful and will arrange trips and give any advice on most things you would need to know.

I have really appreciated staying at the Bristol where everyone was exceptionnally helpful and nice to me, starting with the young man at the front desk and the doormen who all gave me wise advise and good recommendtaion about Beirut. Breakfast was much enjoyable and the service was discreet and effective, Also, since I stayed there for my birthday, on that day when I came back to my room, there was an excellent piece of cake from the Bristol pastry shop (which is great by the way). So, for me the Bristol is really an hotel I will always remember and I would recommend it to otherswith no doubt, even though it is not during their birthday! Enjoy Beirut!

“A bastion of quality in and uncertain locale... An American's perspective”

Le Bristol was staffed by very friendly people who took care of me from the very moment I checked in. The hotel itself is in a very safe area of Beirut and within walking distance from the really cool night life... (Check out the Oscar Wilde Bar). If you don't want to walk, just catch one of the many cabs that are stationed outside the hotel. The hotel has a decent restaurant and a pretty cozy bar. You'll be impressed with the ballroom like atmosphere almost every night. The hotel apparently hosts receptions and such, but you don't hear any of it from your room. The room itself has an old Paris charm. In fact, the hotel reminded me of that awesome hotel on the movie, "The Shining". The costs were very reasonable too. That was my main focus before my trip. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is still a place with reasonable rates AND quality service. Oh yeah, the hotel staff also worked with me to find really exciting day trips to the historical sites in the mountains. They even secured an honest driver with a really nice car. I spent the whole day in the mountains exploring the famous caves with the stalagtites and such. Had I not been so intrigued by my 'duty free purchases', I would have spent more time on the road... With that said, make SURE you hit the duty free at the airport BEFORE you leave. It will save you a lot of money, trust me. Whatever booze you don't use yourself... you can use the rest as tips for the cabbies! Have fun.

“Pleasent Stay”

Wonderful Hotel and they upgrade me to a suite once they noticed that I already arrived late and was so tired , the service is extreemly good, the negative thing is that there is a new neighbour building so a little noise comes out during the day , Location is amazing close to hamra street.
