Belen - Super 8Posted Nov 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was billed upon check-in. I've disputed this additional charge on my Discover charge. I hope by putting this down here it will help with the dispute resolution.

Older Super8 but comfortable enoughPosted Oct 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is an older Super 8 in a very worn part of town. My stay was comfortable enough though. I slept well, the room was as clean as possible given it's age. The hotel really, really needs to replace the carpeting though. The front desk person was helpful, curteous, and friendly. It looked like they were getting ready to do some updating as they were putting in new flooring in the lobby as I was leaving. Even though I prefer nicer hotels, I would stay here again.

AWESOME FOR THE PRICEPosted Sep 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
We got a mini-fridge (med size) two comfortable beds, nice pillows, clean room, a microwave oven, table and chairs!!! It was an excellent deal. The breakfast was small, but I didn't care because I was able to save leftovers in my mini-fridge and warm them in my microwave!

Pros: Putting new carpet down
Cons: Housekeeping and desk clerk
Location: For our purpose location was good
Good location for what we needed. However, we were there for two nights and housekeeping never came. No clean towels, no trash emptied or bed made. Desk clerk gave us two trash bags and told us to put the trash in the hall and she would collect it. REALLY. Breakfast was nothing to write home about either. Felt we didn't get our moneys worth. Will go back to Belen NM in a few weeks but will certainly not be staying there.

Works for a quick overnightPosted Apr 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
Friendly staff and clean, however breakfast was not set out until after 6am and it didn't seem to be in a great area of town.

We renamed it "Super Gross"Posted Feb 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Do yourself a huge favor and chose ANY other hotel in town. This place is GROSS! We walked in to the lobby and it stunk of old stale smoke. The whole place is about 20 years overdue for a serious revamping. There was no one at the desk (6:30pm on a Friday night). We rang the bell and a woman came out and barked "Can I help you?" I told her we had a reservation and wanted to check in. She said "ID". No please, welcome, smile anything. Just a demand for ID. The parking lot is super sketchy. We entered through the "secure" back entrance which was propped open with a stone. The back hallway and stairs also absolutely stunk of smoke. Our room was bleak and depressing. The thinnest sheets and blanket you can imagine. The comforter was last updated in 1978. The carpet was old and dirty. The bathroom had the toilet seat and lid up, and when I lowered it I noticed that the paint from the lid was peeling off in chunks. The pillows were hard AND lumpy. Breakfast was dismal. The hot water was barely warm to the touch and the coffee was out. And I think I'd forgive all that if the staff were even slightly pleasant. But instead we had another unhappy staff person down there scowling at everyone and muttering under her breath to put the milk back in the fridge when done with it. Good morning to you too! So... yes, save yourself a few bucks and stay here, but have a horrid night's sleep, or pay a little more and stay at the Holiday Inn.

Old, smokey but clean roomPosted Feb 16, 2014
Location: Many restaurants around were shut down.
Hallways smelled a lot like cigarette smoke. Room was clean but outdated.
