“Excellent Budget Accommodation”

This is well worth the money. Breakfast is good and the rooms are quite impressive considering they are student rooms. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Only criticism I would have is that the included network access needs to be pre-arranged, and even when I requested it on booking for my second stay it was still not set up on time.

I am writing this for my husband, who was the guest, but I booked him in - so have to do the review, it seems! He stayed last year and was very happy indeed. However this year he was disappointed in the the breakfast (not cooked), the lack of utensils in the kitchen (apparently no pots/pans, cutlery or crockery) and the effort needed to manage to go on-line in the bedroom - and all for twice as much as he paid last year. Pity really!

“Convenient student B&B accommodation in a convenient location.”

This is the student accommodation at Elms Village, on the Malone road. The village was a very convenient place to stay. It is than half an hour walking distance from the city centre and you have the Botanic gardens a little over 10 minutes walk away as well. For the nightlife, apart from the city centre, there are bars about 5 minutes walk away, but if you go to the city centre it is best to get a cab after dark, due to one particular area along the way. There is secure parking on site, with a 24 hour reception and the breakfast in the morning is included, which is full English. Also, I did not use it, but there is a kitchen/TV room down the corridor from the room if you wish to self-cater. The room was student accommodation and was fine. You get an en-suite as well. The only thing is that the shower is a bit small and cramped, but this is a minor criticism. The room was basic, but fine. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay for a weekend or a few days away. It would not be suitable really for taking your wife or girlfriend for a romantic few days away or anything like that, nor would it be suitable for people who are very elderly or handicapped as the rooms could be a good walk away from reception and the car park. However, for the lone traveller, a few friends travelling together or groups of people, this is definitely suitable and convenient accommodation.

“Cheap yet more than cheerfull!”

I stayed for 2 nights in a very recently built student halls. The En suite had everything I needed and was very clean as was the whole room. The communal area had a TV and kitchen facilities. Breakfast was excellent and included in the low price. The bed was comfy and big enough for me at 192cm tall. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the accommodation was!

“Just about value for money”

We booked Queens University Belfast as it was cheap accomodation. The room has all the basics you need as long as you dont plan on spending much time indoors which is no problem as Belfast is a bustling place with lots to do. However this is usually student accomodation and there is a huge difference between the comfort of a hotel and this place. For instance things like chewing gum sticking a note to the wall in my bathroom. Though there was nothing I felt I needed to complain about because you do get what you pay for, I would only recommend this accomodation to someone who really couldnt afford more. Also the picture shown on Expedia is the university itself; the accomodation is down the road and very bog-standard looking buildings.

“Cheap basic room for the night.”

It's a single room in a student halls of residence, about 2 miles south of the centre of town. It's a cheap bed for the night (which is all I was after). You get a reasonable bed in a room with heating and a decent breakfast the next day. There's power sockets, a wardrobe and a desk in the room and suprisingly an en-suite shower and toilet. There's a communal kitchen on each floor (between about a dozen rooms) with a tv. It's nice and secure too, with barriers surrounding the parking areas and key-card access to each building and floor and to your individual room. There are no lifts though, so you'd need to request a ground floor room if you can't do stairs.

I liked the staff a lot, they were really super nice, but the room they'd booked me in had no working lights, and after several trips back to reception and being shown a room that was dirty, with unmade bed clearly recently vacated, they found a room that looked clean, but when I went to get into bed this god-awful stink rose off the sheets - it permeated the mattress, pillow & bedding. I was too tired to deal, so I just got in bed without taking a shower, kept my clothes on, and slept fitfully till morning. Other than that the room was fairly comfortable, but it was an unpleasant night. They didn't have it together.

this is a student hall not a hotel. No tv, no telephone (no reception for cell phone either), plastic matress, noisy, decoration which looks like a prison cell. Avoid
