“Best hotel in downtown area”

This is the best hotel you could stay in before starting to pay too much money. All of the attractions are only 2-3 miles away.

“Pretty nice for a former Eastern Block hotel”

The welcome and the staff attitude were brilliant, and the food was great, (even in the Restaurant!) thereby making our short stay great. Okay, it's a concrete panel tower block, a bit ugly and the wind whistles around the top too, definitely shows its heritage. We took a while to suss out the heating (it was November after all), and the bed was a bit 'rustic'. However, they are trying to do it up a bit (which you can bet will take an age), but I would definitely stay there again. Look out for the breakfast buffet with all sorts of concoctions that, whilst not instantly recognisable, make an interesting start to the day...(Try the orange stuff, you'll know it when you see it, which is local cheese with chilli powder?). Oh, and Lav 7 is a brilliant beer, sold in the bar. (Incidentally, Belgrade is definitely one for the future)

“Srbija Hotel - an excellent stay”

We chose this hotel almost because we couldn't find anywhere else on line. However, we were very fortunate. This hotel is excellent. Though a little way out of the city centre it has a regular - and very cheap - bus that passes the door. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The level of cleanliness is good and the facilities excellent. The hotel offers free access to the internet. The food in the restaurant was wonderful and very cheap. We got a litre of excellent red Montenegran wine for under 3 GBP and the service was prompt and unintrusive. A superb buffet breakfast is served from 06.30, wonderful for those making an early start. We would recommend this hotel for both leisure and business travel.

“Decent budget hotel”

We'd booked a room just for 1 night after the Exit music festival in Serbia. We weren't looking for luxury, just a comfortable bed, hot shower & clean room for the night, & Hotel Srbjia was exactly what we needed. For the price, it more than met what we expected, staff were extremely friendly & helpful, & the free internet & large breakfast were excellent. as a budget hotel, highly recommended

“Recomend....maybe!!”

Staff were very friendly on checking in, although that was partly because they were Partizan fans and I was there to see Rangers v Red Star Belgrade! Whilst the rooms were clean overall the hotel was rather tired both internally and externally and generally in need of refurbishment. A bit out of town but cabs are plentiful and cheap - however the traffic noise first thing woke me very early and I was on the 11th floor!

The hotel is cleary in need of a refurb, and is quite along way from the centre of belgrade if you plan to walk. Though the staff are freindly and helpful

“A suitable case for treatment”

I may be a bit harsh, giving this a 2 rating; however, on arrival, reception staff were surly - not a good first impression; on arriving in my room, as it was a long day, I decided to treat myself to a glass of white wine from the monibar. The wine was brown, not a colour normally associated with Chardonnay. Back to reception to get the user name and password for wireless internet connection and the card with the information on it was handed over very reluctantly after whispered consultations between reception staff. The downstairs bar was pleasant enough, with very helpful staff, and the top floor restaurant also provided very agreeable food with good service from a couple of ancient waiters. The next morning, on flushing the loo, there was an immediate flood from the U-bend. The bathroom itself, even before that event was very spartan with exposed and rusting pipework and a number of suspicious stains. Leaving the premises was one of the happiest experiences of my life.

Like a 1970's UK hotel. Drab, dreary and in need of a major facelift and millions of pounds spending on it. Do not stay there!

“Not impressed”

It is a comunist building placed on a high traffic bulevard. It is not good even as a tranzit hotel. Have to wait for modernisation
