"Amazing stay, even extended twice. The service is second to none, everything is no problem. From the amazing view of the sea to all the varied wildlife in the grounds, posse of monkeys visit every day drinking from the pool and generally being monkeys to peacocks, a mongoose, frogs, all the birds. Nick the owner is a friendly chap and clearly set the ethos of this place and is always around to help if needed. Kalpa and Umesh (managers) are great, absolute credit to the place. Can’t say a bad word, if we are back to Sri Lanka then a visit here will be on the cards again. We had 2 rooms, both great, outdoor showers, very clean, air con, amazing views over the lagoon, comfy beds. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka, only left as we had plans. The beach is 2 min walk away past all the hermit crabs, we saw baby turtles going into the sea one evening just before they close the beach due to conservation. We then went another night with the turtle conservation next door and witnessed a turtle laying eggs. This place has it all."

"This is an amazing resort with amazing ambiance and staff, direct access to the beach and a beautiful pool, we had 5 days of heaven in a villa and could not ask for anything better, everyone soo helpful and welcoming, bed super comfortable, food delicious, very central to tuk tuk around to the beaches to explore, great restaurants around and loved every moment there"

"There are 3 hotels in the Somerset group. This is away from the beach. Its up a very steep narrow concrete road. Its dark in the night and only 1 vehicle can go up or down this dark narrow road. The hotel staff are really nice. The rooms are a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was a joke as compared to hotels we have stayed in colombo. There was no buffet. Just a plate of fruit and eggs if you asked. Better stay is closer to the beach and somerset has a hotel right on tne beach"

"A fantastic and luxurious property, that felt like a home away from home for the three nights that we stayed. Staff were so helpful and welcoming and would go out of the way to help us in any way possible. The room was incredible and so comfortable and the beach was stunning. "

"Absolutely one of the best beach Villa locations we’ve ever stayed at. The hotel is beautiful, clean, in the perfect location and has wonderful staff. They cater to your every need. Breakfast on the beach side is wonderful. The beach itself is so secluded, but yet you can walk along to the left and right to see the stunning views. The rooms are large and extremely comfortable with wonderful bedding. We stayed in the ocean signature suite, which has a large balcony overlooking the ocean and the pool. So convenient to get to Marissa Beach or to Matara or in fact anywhere in a Tuk Tuk. We even took one to Galle Fort which was a fabulous experience. One of the hotel staff hooked us up with a Tuk Tuk Driver to figure out his daily rate. My only issue was that the hotel tried to change the cost of the taxi ride back to the airport which we had already arranged in advance. We also asked for a return taxi to a wedding 3 miles away and were quoted $50 which was obviously ridiculous. Just a little disappointing. Overall would highly recommend."

"The staff here are very helpful and kind. The property does not have a restaurant. The rooms smell of damp as do pillows and mattress. I asked for a blanket and got a bedsheet!! I had to ask for a mosquito net. Over priced for a tired hotel. Near the beach but no views only grotty tin roofs and a huge dirty wall of the hotel next door that blocks out any light. Internet is bad and they have power cuts all the time. Disappointing. "

"Overall very nice ocean front facility, rooms are clean, older but comfortable. AC works well. Staff though not very well trained are trying their best to be helful. Food is good, lots of chices and close to authentic. Difficulty road to get to the hotel, then this is normal for Sri Lankan hotel outside of Colombo. "
