Nice Ambergris Caye escape.Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Room close to pool and beach access. Resort staff exceptional. Close to Tuff Enuff excursion departure point. Comfortable bed/room. Charging to room.
Cons: Consistent water temperature of resort's hot tub (way too hot or too cold). Water pressure in room shower was weak.
Location: Great location. Restaurants nearby. Tuff Enuff snorkeling/diving excursions right outside resort off pier. San Pedro close enough to bike to.
Very nice stay during Thanksgiving 2014. Exceptional resort staff (thanks Penny, Stephanie, Rhoda). Nice accommodations. Walking distance to restaurants. Unfortunately, restaurant was under renovation while there. Weather was not ideal (cloudy and/or rained all but one day there) but still enjoyed everything we set out to do. Had a massage on our resort balcony (one of the better massages I've had and reasonable). Ate best meal at Capricorn restaurant. Thanks to Clive (GM) and Maggie for a great night and the private boat taxi service! I had the seafood combination (lobster, stone crab claw and shrimp) and my fiancée had the pork tenderloin (best we've ever had)! They brought out a slice of double chocolate rum cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to my fiancée and didn't charge for the cake:). Yum! Also had a nice Thanksgiving buffet meal at Coco Beach Resort (Cocoblanca Restaurant). Tammy and Rick have just taken over restaurant services there and are already making great improvements! We enjoyed meeting them and trying their food. Our last night on Ambergris Caye, we just wanted a sandwich and salad. They graciously let me order a BLT even though it was not on the menu. Highly recommend Belizean Shores Resort, Cocoblanca Restaurant and Tuff Enuff half day snorkel trip to Shark Ray Alley to swim with sharks and stingrays.

Comfortable Stay in Paradise!Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Nice location, large rooms, comfortable pool
Cons: Rooms need to be upgraded, and better solution for drinking water
Location: The Tuff Enough crew at the dock is great, and can set you up with diving, snorkeling, and more. Also, a few restaurants within walking distance.
While we have stayed many times in Ambergris Caye, this was our first time at Belizean Shores. The rooms are large and comfortable, though a little worn. Took a long time to get hot water and the water pressure was very low. You can't drink the water from the faucet (they told us this 3 times during our check-in) so they provide you with 3 bottles of water, which you then must fill up from a faucet outside. Other hotels have provided a 5 gallon water jug on the counter, which is MUCH more convenient. The pool is nice, and Ruby at the Swim Up bar is awesome! Sadly, the restaurant was closed for remodeling. Would have been great to know that ahead of time! However, you can use the pool and services at their sister property two doors down.

Nice propertyPosted Dec 2, 2014
We enjoyed this hotel and the sister property close by. Beautiful grounds with lots of plants and palm trees, nicely lit in the evening. Friendly, hard working staff. Beautiful, tranquil pool with pool bar. The upper level unit was spacious with a bed up in the loft. Tiny kitchen, small bath - far from luxurious, but comfortable. No wifi inside- barely on the balcony and best around the pool-just steps outside the door. Steep steps to the upper units- not for anyone who has a hard time with steps! Good food next door at their gorgeous pool bar-and small cafe for coffee/baked goods there also, Pack/bring snack food or cereals, etc- hard to get on the island and 3x the cost as US!

Great atmosphere and very cozyPosted Nov 20, 2014
The staff is very accommodating. The rooms are nice, not fancy. The only small draw back is the lack of fresh water in you room without going to a spigot near the pool. Not a big thing but will need to be addressed at some point. Pool and swim up bar are nice and convenient. We will definitely return.

Great Short BreakPosted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: This hotel is located in a very quiet part of the beach. The restaurant was closed during our stay but that was not a problem.
Location: The hotel is well sited 50 yards from the beach,a boat will take you to the island capital. Golf carts and cycles can be hired
Just a short break but well worth every minute, not the hotel for the knees up crowd the beach walks to adjoining hotels is very safe even at night, but take a torch some part are quite dark. There are plenty of eating places within walking distance are good one at the Captain Morgan resort 10 minutes walk. Take plenty of mosquito spray and use it before you walk in the evening. There are a few beach traders but they do not bother you. Everyone is very polite and will stop and talk to you.

Outstanding service and quality for great price!Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness, the staff, and the amenities provided such as free water bottles, TV, room service, and sister hotel.
Cons: The water smells kind of funny, not a big problem, and it would be nice to have a trash can for the kitchen unit.
Location: A ten minute boat ride from San Pedro town, not a whole lot of other open places near the resort during slow season. 30 minute bike ride to town.
From the moment we arrived we were treated warmly, which was much appreciated after a long day of traveling. The food tasted great, the people were friendly and easy to talk to, and the units were clean and air conditioned. The kitchen was stocked enough to where we could make meals easily if we wanted to save some money. I would recommend buying groceries in San Pedro before arriving if possible. It made it easier to snack when it wasn't time for meals. The pool was very clean and the pool bar was fun and friendly. We also spent some time at the pool at the sister resort, Coco Beach, which is a two minute walk south on the beach and you can buy food and drinks there and charge it to your room. Coco Beach had a water slide in one of their pools, which we found very entertaining. The hotel tours company, Tuff Enuff, took us out to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. We had a great time, and the snorkeling with sharks did not disappoint. There is plenty to do on the resort if you wanted to stay and play, but there was also a very well accommodated ferry from the resort to town which was very reasonably priced. Great place. Very clean and very fun.

You pretty much will fine a good value here. Clean rooms and pleasant service. Internet service was poor if not spotty. Nicely located on the far end of the beach.

Awesome Hotel and Awesome Staff!!!Posted Aug 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Awesome hotel! The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Only one bad thing- there was a terrible smell that came from the bathroom pipes/water in pipes. We kept the door closed and sprayed perfume in the bathroom to cover the smell.

Everything was wonderful. The hospitality, rooms, cleanliness...it was all so delightful. The staff were all amazing and we enjoyed this stay immensely. The only thing? Maybe a softer pillow.. :) But thank you!

Quiet secluded resort next to beachPosted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Pool could have better access and be a little cooler in temperature. Maybe one set of stairs could have a hand rail.
Location: Resort is 15 min water taxi ride from town. Jet ski, kayaking, paddle boarding on site.
We were greeted at the water taxi by hotel staff and led directly to our room with no pressure to check in immediately. Room was comfortable and spacious with well stocked kitchen and bathroom amenities. A gallon of fresh water was provided with option to refill from treated rainwater well spigot. Pool was nice although was a bit too warm and not easily accessed by older people. Having free access to sister resort and pool just down the beach solved this problem for my mother. Enjoyed the hammocks and beach chairs under the palm trees on the beach. Resort provided complementary DVD player and movies and plenty of reading material. Free use of kayaks and paddleboards was also a bonus with the reef for snorkeling just a 10 minute paddle away. All the resort employees were extremely friendly and courteous. We really enjoyed the quiet relaxed get away but if you are looking for a lively nightlife this may not be for you.
