Not for me!

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: The premise was nice.pleasing to look at and very comfortable.
Cons: Replace bottled water every day. Fix the restaurant. Heat the pool. Keep the prices the same
Location: Nothing to do at the hotel but you could take the water taxi and do things. Belize is an island great for people who enjoy snorkeling or scuba diving.
A day late arriving due to AMerican airlines.they are terrible.1 1/2 hours and 2 boat rides you arrive at hotel. Place is lovely to look at. No restaurant on premise. You get one bottle of water and the rest of the time you fetch it yourself. no beach and pool is freezing. At the bar the price changes on soda every day or depending who is serving. 45 minutes to go anywhere and hands are always out looking for money. If your looking to relax by the pool or beach and be able to go in the water not for you. Maybe in the summer the pool warms up. As far as recommending this place if this is the type of vacation you looking for then this is the place for you.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly! The grounds were well groomed and the room was perfect. The Tuff E Nuff water service was superb also.

Great beachfront close to town

Posted Mar 17, 2015
Staff was excellent and very friendly. Not crowded, quiet, beautiful landscaping, good food. Easy access to town on the new paved road or water taxi. The pool was great with in pool bar. Order lunch at the bar and it's ready in short amount of time or have it delivered to your room. Will definitely go back again.

Lovely family resort

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: The friendliest of the staff and the well maintained facilities. And the location and views -fabulous.
Cons: As mentioned above, more sand is needed in areas. Also, a little gift shop for necessities would be nice.
Location: There are Fantastic excursions right from the resort thru Tuff Enuff tours. Snorkeling is best I have seen. Many restaurants in walking distance.
We had a wonderful time at this resort. The staff are among the friendliest I have ever encountered. I love that they meet you at the dock and take you directly to your room to settle in - not to the front office to check in. The food was very good, purified water was readily available and the excursions with Tuff Enuff Tours could be scheduled and left right from the resort. The only thing I would improve is that the sand is scarce in some areas. E.g. Walking down toward the water and on the volleyball court there is little sand in areas and hard surface underneath.

Beautiful grounds and large rooms.

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: Rooms, grounds, pool, staff, restaurant
Cons: Bar prices were high, very low water pressure
Location: We rented golf carts to go downtown to shop and go to bars and restaurants. Many resorts with restaurants within walking distance.
The rooms were large and clean with very big balconies. Staff was friendly and helpful. We ate many meals at the restaurant and they were reasonably priced and most were good. Drinks are expensive so we went to the local markets to purchase our own. You can walk for miles on the beach path. There is a lot of algae on the beaches but you can use their free kayaks and swim or snorkel beyond the pier. Over all, a great place for a relaxing vacation.

Hi Babs, thanks for taking the time to advise other travelers. We are sorry the Sargassum seaweed was present during your stay. It isn't always like this, but this year it has affected Florida, Texas, the Caribbean and more. We look forward to the opportunity of hosting you again.

Excellent staff

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Location: Caye Caulker, marine reserve snorkeling, San Pedro (10 minutes away by speed boat)
I'm so grateful to the staff at Belizean Shores because they truly elevated my experience in Ambergris Caye. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! It was also ridiculously easy to book excursions with Tuff e Nuff at the end of our dock. Would definitely stay here again on my return trip.

Not for people who love swimming in ocean or sea. For very quite pool seating vacation.

Hi Alina, It's true that due to the proximity of the World's second largest barrier reef, Belize does not have what most consider traditional walk in beaches. Our waters are calm, warm and shallow and due to the lack of wave action, sea grass tends to take root. Sea grass is harmless and is in fact an important part of the ecosystem, but for many it simply tickles their feet. For this reason, most tourists and locals alike will get into the water off of one of the island's many docks where the water is deeper. Our dock at Belizean Shores has stairs leading right into the water as well as a fun slide and is a very popular spot for swimming in the Caribbean. While most of our guests are happy with the option to swim off the dock in addition to our great pool, we understand this may not be for everyone and we value and thank you for your opinion.

Great ocean, close to snorkeling off the reef.

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: location was excellent with great ocean access.
Cons: The resteraunt needs a set menu and needs to be open every day. Consistensy would go a long way. Even if it was made into a burger, fries and pizza
Location: Ocean dives, kayak, snorkeling, fishing and more. Offsite tours of runes, horseback riding and cave tube rides available from location transportation
Close to the ocean. Great access to reef diving, snorkeling, fishing and general activities. The staff was excellent in all regards from bartenders, maids and general grounds keepers. The site was very clean although it is getting a little dated. This is part of a larger resort company Sandy Point in which you could also use there amenities which are very nice. This places onsite food was inconsistent as they were sometimes open and often not serving a big menu. That was overcome by the ability to walk 5-10 min down the beach to another place to eat. This was a quiet resort and good for relaxation.

Birthday trip to Belize

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Pros: The amazing staff!
Location: The road is now paved to San Pedro so going by golf cart is so much easier now.
Had a great stay at the Belizean Shores! The staff are wonderful and make the stay so enjoyable they treat you like extended family. We did have issues with the wifi but went to the front desk and they gave us a device that strengthened the signal. When we were there the restaurant was closed for renovations but went to their sister resort at Cocoa Beach for some meals. The day before we came home it reopened which was great. Thank you to the staff at Belizean Shores for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back as the country is beautiful and the Belizean's treat you like family.
