so amazing!

Posted May 1, 2015
Pros: the staff! the staff! the staff! the restaraunt, the laid-backness of it, the convenient location, the room......EVERYTHING!!!!!!
Cons: The room was very comfortable but could be updated a bit, however it is very "beachy".....so updating would just be my personal taste....
Location: convenient location.....quick and easy to take water taxi to town for lunch and/or dinner everyday, convenient access to tour company......
Belezian Shores was AWESOME!! The room had a private patio with table and chairs, which was wonderful! We wished it had lounge chairs instead but it was wonderful none-the-less. The staff was exceptional....and that is an understatement of the care and attention we received while we were there!! Mike the bartender, Nigel from the restaurant, Levi from the office and everyone else were the definition of exemplary customer service. It was a quiet resort....very laid back, which was perfect for us. If we wanted live music or more activity we walked two minutes up the beach to the sister resort Coco Beach....but usually preferred our relaxing pool at Belezian Shores!! The room was a little dated and living room furniture was adequate but not super comfy. Our room did have a very comfortable king size bed.....which the resort description said queen....so that was a pleasant surprise. The on site restaraunt was very good and not expensive. The crew at Tuff Enuff tours was very convenient and perfect for excursions and water taxis........Everything was just so convenient and easy during our stay. The staff at Belizean Shores have all the conveniences figured out and directed us accordingly. Overall our stay was verrry verrrrrry good and when we go back to Belize we will stay at Belezian Shores!

We work hard to provide our guests with great accommodations complemented by beautiful grounds, one of the island's favorite pools, a fun bar scene, tasty and affordable onsite restaurant and the services of a professional onsite tour operator. All of these factors are brought together to offer our guests an easy one-stop vacation experience and we are so happy to read that you took advantage of this, had a great stay and plan to return.

Beautiful facilities, beach and bugs not so nice

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Pool, king size bed, beach towels available for use, bike rentals available
Cons: Make bikes available for free like the kayaks
Location: Sea kayaks, biking into town or around the island, playing in the pool, visiting nearby hotel restaurants for meals
Stayed 6 days and 5 nights mid-April. Beautiful cabana with small kitchen, living area, nice big kind bed. Lovely big pool and lots of spots to sit and enjoy the sun or shade. Unfortunately we were both eaten up by bugs while relaxing pool-side -- seriously I got 8 bites on my back alone within a period of a few minutes! There isn't really any beach to speak of - there's a few feet of sand and then lots of stinky seagrass. The restaurant is okay but pretty basic; not overpriced though. The hotel advertises the convenience of a tour company located right on their dock, called Tuff-Enuff. We did two tours - 1) afternoon snorkeling and 2) cave tubing + zip lining on the mainland. The snorkeling was okay but the mainland trip was exceedingly expensive - almost $600US for 2 people for a few hours. Definitely NOT worth it, and we later saw much better deals offered by other groups in San Pedro.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Belizean Shores Resort. We know it's a ways to travel from the PNW and appreciate your patronage. While we are happy to know that you enjoyed our accommodations and lovely pool, we are sorry to hear about the bug bites. Mosquitoes tend to make an appearance in Belize after it rains, similar to other parts of the world, and as such we recommend our guests travel with insect repellent with DEET to use in such instances. In regards to the beach, I believe you are referring to the Sargassum Seaweed which has landed on the beaches of Florida, Texas, Mexico, Belize, Honduras and areas of the Caribbean this season. Sargassum Seaweed comes from the Sargasso Sea which is located in the center of the Atlantic Ocean and is often referred to as a “floating rainforest” due to its importance as a nesting ground for juvenile fish and turtles. Ideally, currents and water temperatures keep this floating weed at sea but it has been a challenge and has certainly been washing ashore this year. That being said, our crew works diligently to keep our beach clear and even on the heaviest of landfall days our guests enjoy swimming off of our dock. It's an unfortunate reality, but guests should be aware that seaweed can exist and/or wash up along the coastline. Tour prices to the mainland tend to vary dependent upon the method of transport the operator uses to get guests to/from the mainland. For Tuff E Nuff tours, they generally utilize the scenic and convenient local flight option that takes about :15 minutes. Other operators on the island will utilize the public water taxi, while this option brings down the per person cost, it also adds approximately 2 hours of lone transportation to the trip and is not the most comfortable option in particular for those with neck and back issues. That being said, our Guest Services Manager and Tuff E Nuff Tours are happy to discuss all options and prices available should our guests express an interest. We thank you again for your feedback.

Wonderful, Reasonable Priced Hotel

Posted Apr 16, 2015
I came to Belizean Shores Resort with a friend for a girls trip. Even before we arrived we were so appreciative and impressed with how the resort reached out to us to share the best way to get to the resort. It can be overwhelming trying to figure out how to get to the hotel but Levi and others took great care of us. It made our trip seamless. Additionally, the Tuff E Nuff water taxi is extremely convenient and the guys are great! Belizean Shores is reasonably priced with a great pool, large rooms, terrific staff and just an all around wonderful resort!

Wow, sounds like a great girls trip! We realize we are not the newest or fanciest resort on the island. We strive to provide our guests with spacious, comfortable and clean accommodations, complemented by great onsite amenities, personalized and professional service and the convenience of our onsite bar, restaurant and tour operator. We are so pleased you appreciate our efforts and look forward to hosting you again.

Beautiful resort!

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Excellent staff that was attentive and helpful. Beautiful grounds. Very well-maintained accommodations.
Location: Capricorn restaurant is not worth the cost, I would not recommend going there. We had our most expense and worst meal there.
We stayed at Belizean Shores March 29 through April 3, 2015. Our stay was fabulous. The staff is attentive to your needs, the condos are very nicely furnished and the kitchens are small, but they have everything you need to cook meals. Our daily housekeeping was great. The grounds and beach are well-maintained, especially with that weird seaweed/bog stuff that comes in every night. The food we had at the restaurant was really good, they do run out of things occasionally, but that is part of island living. We had a gold cart delivered and picked up during our stay, and it was effortless. Belizian Shores took care of booking our flights from the mainland and back, which was really helpful. We went as a family of 4 and have a really relaxing, fun vacation.

We are so pleased that we were able to assist you and ensure your family had a great time at Belizean Shores. We appreciate your great attitude and understanding as we worked to clean up the Sargassum Seaweed that has been coming ashore this season. A fun and relaxing vacation is the name of the game and we are so happy to have delivered. Thanks again for your feedback.

Excellent Ambergris Accommodations

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Price was just right!
Cons: Only problem we had was poor water pressure at times.
Location: Restaurants within walking distance, golf cart accessible to town or water taxi.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. They are able to assist in golf cart rental, water taxi transport and were very accommodating. We stayed in a one bedroom ground floor and it was just right. Good location from town along newly finished paved road which makes golf cart travel easy. Restaurants within walking distance and pool bar was very nice.

Not for me!

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: The premise was nice.pleasing to look at and very comfortable.
Cons: Replace bottled water every day. Fix the restaurant. Heat the pool. Keep the prices the same
Location: Nothing to do at the hotel but you could take the water taxi and do things. Belize is an island great for people who enjoy snorkeling or scuba diving.
A day late arriving due to AMerican airlines.they are terrible.1 1/2 hours and 2 boat rides you arrive at hotel. Place is lovely to look at. No restaurant on premise. You get one bottle of water and the rest of the time you fetch it yourself. no beach and pool is freezing. At the bar the price changes on soda every day or depending who is serving. 45 minutes to go anywhere and hands are always out looking for money. If your looking to relax by the pool or beach and be able to go in the water not for you. Maybe in the summer the pool warms up. As far as recommending this place if this is the type of vacation you looking for then this is the place for you.

It sounds like you had a rocky start with the AA delay and we are so sorry to learn this. Most of our guests contact us prior to arrival and we book the island flight which makes the commute a simple: 15min flight BZE-San Pedro, followed by a: 15 min boat ride to the resort. Guests receive a large bottle of drinking water upon arrival which can be refilled during their stay. Most guests enjoy the convenience/eco-friendliness of this option. We are so sorry if you found this a hassle, and recommend in the future, should you be staying at a condo resort, that you work with the property to provision prior to your arrival. We are confused by your comment about "45 min to go anywhere" with several options less than a :10 min walk away. It is VERY important to us that our guests realize that Belize as a whole is not known for those traditional walk in beaches like you might find in Cancun. The reason is that Belize enjoys the protection of the World's second largest barrier reef system. This means that we don't get strong wave or undertow action which makes for warm, calm and grassy shallows. With the information available to travelers today, we encourage our guests to visit all travel forums and gather as much information as they can before making the decision to spend your valuable vacation dollars and time. We want you to be happy with your vacation choice even if it means your choice is to stay at another resort or to choose another destination altogether. We hope your next vacation experience is more successful and thank you for your comments.

Great beachfront close to town

Posted Mar 17, 2015
Staff was excellent and very friendly. Not crowded, quiet, beautiful landscaping, good food. Easy access to town on the new paved road or water taxi. The pool was great with in pool bar. Order lunch at the bar and it's ready in short amount of time or have it delivered to your room. Will definitely go back again.

Lovely family resort

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: The friendliest of the staff and the well maintained facilities. And the location and views -fabulous.
Cons: As mentioned above, more sand is needed in areas. Also, a little gift shop for necessities would be nice.
Location: There are Fantastic excursions right from the resort thru Tuff Enuff tours. Snorkeling is best I have seen. Many restaurants in walking distance.
We had a wonderful time at this resort. The staff are among the friendliest I have ever encountered. I love that they meet you at the dock and take you directly to your room to settle in - not to the front office to check in. The food was very good, purified water was readily available and the excursions with Tuff Enuff Tours could be scheduled and left right from the resort. The only thing I would improve is that the sand is scarce in some areas. E.g. Walking down toward the water and on the volleyball court there is little sand in areas and hard surface underneath.
