Wonderful accommodations at an affordable price!Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Great hotel staff, good food and a very friendly environment.
Cons: The rooms are white with wooden paneling. I would just add colorful, regional art to give them a pop of color and local culture.
Location: The hotel is close to the downtown area, near all of the shops, airport and restaurants. I walked or road a bike that they allowed me to use.
I went to Ambergris Caye, San Pedro for my birthday and stayed at the Caribbean Villas Hotel. Before traveling to Belize, I sent an email to Paul, the hotel manager. I mentioned that it was going to be my birthday, that I would be traveling alone and that I wanted a room near or on the sand and with an oceanview. He did more than accommodate me by giving me the first room facing the beach and on the ground level. The rooms were kept clean on a daily basis. The staff of the hotel was very friendly. From the management to the wait staff, everyone was professional and very kind. Although I traveled alone, I didn't feel alone there. On my birthday, they surprised me by filling my room with flowers and then giving a bottle of wine. (A very thoughtful gesture) The food at the restaurant was really good and fairly priced. I bought all of my tours through the hotel. Normally, the hotels don't offer competitive pricing, but the cost for the tours were actually less expensive through the hotel. The other benefit of buying the tours through the hotel is that it was safe aside from being very convenient.

Location: Rent a golf cart & go to the south end of the island to a small, unexcavated ruin. Bring bug spray but worth the time.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location was a little further from the town than we had thought but we still enjoyed it. It was beautiful and quiet and the staff helped us with everything we needed. They arranged our tours, etc. as well as checking out the different means of transportation back to the mainland as we were heading to Mexico.

Very reasonable hotel rates in Belize.Posted Mar 30, 2015
Great seven night stay. Great staff, very accommodating. Would highly recommend. Intend to return. Everything we needed was onsite or very near. Seagrass. was a problem everywhere along the eastern shore but we found a beautiful beach on the west side.

Nice Hotel Right on the BEACH!Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: The food / restaurant was very convenient if you didn't want to go exploring - a good variety of food choices. Nice Pool and Beach.
Cons: The soundproofing of the walls and floor need to be improved.
Location: The location was very GOOD - convenient to other restaurants, etc. Any tours that you might schedule all picked you up at the hotel's dock.
We stayed in the New portion of the Hotel (Four Story Section), which was O.K. - just a little noisy (The walls are NOT very soundproof). The location was very GOOD - convenient to other restaurants, etc. (Well within walking distance). The hotel staff was very helpful in scheduling tours, which ALL conveniently picked you up at the hotel's dock.

Nothing fancy but great placePosted Mar 28, 2015
Rooms were simple and clean. Everything worked. I would recommend asking for a refrigerator upon arrival. Staff was courteous. Grounds were well kept.

Good locationPosted Mar 21, 2015
We're pretty low maintenance travellers, so this hotel met our needs. The location was excellent for a 15 min walk on the beach into centre of town. The rooms had everything we needed & the patio had ocean/beach/Palm tree views. No long walk to the beach. The sea grass is everywhere this year, and staff works constantly to combat it. Staff was helpful. If you're looking to be pampered & waited on, this hotel isn't for you. If you like trying different restaurants in town, walking the beach & don't expect all the high end comforts of home (but all your needs are met), stay here.

PleasantPosted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Quiet location, and friendly staff. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and answering questions.
Cons: Side trips offered by the hotel were a bit pricey, but well organized. The hotel was right on the beach, although the seagrass prevented swimming.
Location: Snorkeling and inshore fishing was fantastic. Trips to the main land are doable, but require an hour + ferry trip.
Quaint place in a quiet location. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. It's a little piece of paradise.

not what was expectedPosted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: friendly staff
Cons: room improvements, just not comfortable. blackout blinds, very bright in morning. an oven better yet barbeque. grass around pool area
Location: good location walking distance to town and grocery store.
there are only frying and microwave for cooking. they have barbeque but not for your use. staff are very nice food is good but weather you buy in, eat out or go to grocery store take lots of money, and don't trust the people you are paying off the resort. the resort it's self is ok two small pools the grounds are ok but could be better, staff are always working. beaches in Belize are not so nice but we knew this. we went for diving recommend aqua scuba. the couch is cement and not to comfortable took few minutes for hot water, the fry pan and pots do not sit flay on bottoms so they are clumsy to use. fridge was not real cold but cold enough if you drink fast. they over price all liquor at all stores so get some at duty free on way there.

Everything was great except for one thing.Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, golf cart rental available, excursions available, restaurant and the private dock.
Cons: The walls between rooms. You could hear a pin drop in the next room.
Location: Location is not too far away from downtown, yet far enough to be away from the night life noise. Excursions by boat can pick you up right at the dock
The hotel was almost perfect. Great staff, cleanliness, atmosphere and location. The only big negative is that the walls are paper thin. You could hear everything in the rooms next to yours. Fortunately our neighbors went to bed at a reasonable hour.
