Top Belize Resort

Quiet, clean and great staff. Food so so, but lots of options close by. Good tour & activity desk on site. Of course diving is excellent.

Coco Beach Resort Vacation

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: As Above.
Cons: As Above.
1. The staff was fantastic and worked to fulfill any request we had. Could not be more pleased. 2. The room we stayed in was amazing and could not have been more perfect (kitchen, room, living area). 3. WiFi was scarce, yet advertised as "high speed". We chose this hotel in part due to the reported "high speed" access. One must work hard to play hard. If you are a business person and need access, suggest looking at "other" resorts/hotels. I found only one spot in our whole room that gave me "partial access". At almost $500 a night, no credit was given to us for this inconvenience, and made things very frustrating when trying to conduct some business concerns. 4. Food was decent but expected for the bar food pricing. Get what you pay for, so cannot complain. The "fruity drinks" were amazing and the bartenders could not be more pleasant - including the restaurant staff. 5. One thing that they might consider in the future is to "combine" the bar tab/food tab. They are owned by 2 different companies, so that was a bit inconvenient with having to find 2 different people to pay the 2 different bills.

Thanks again for choosing Coco Beach Resort and for taking the time to share your experience with other travelers. While we are happy to note that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, we are sorry to hear about your frustrations with the WIFI service. Belize still lags behind most of the Caribbean in its WIFI offerings however we still strive to provide our guests with the best available service. We are currently in the process of improving our infrastructure and plan to have this process complete by the end of the second quarter. We thank you for your feedback and hope you will return and give us another chance.

An un-BELIEZEABLE-vacation!

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Super clean, very nice facilities. Beautiful pool. Really liked that we could coordinate all our tours through the hotel, too.
Cons: Don't bank on having Wi-fi...it's very spotty at best. Restaurant, as previously mentioned by others, isn't great but we just went into town.
Location: Tons to do! We went snorkeling, rented bikes, took out a golf cart to explore and did the day trip to the Mayan ruins (best part of the trip!)
We just returned this morning from our trip to Belize and it was amazing! We booked our hotel last-minute and didn't have a ton of time to do research before making plans. We had looked around a little bit and, based mostly on location, decided to go with Coco Beach. From the time we arrived until the time we left, the staff and facilities were incredible! Everything was organized from our initial flight from Belize City to Ambergris Caye through the hotel with friendly staff to greet us every step of the way. All our tours were done through the hotel as well and we couldn't be more pleased. The Tuff Enuff guys are great and really go out of their way to not only make you feel at home but to help answer all your questions. Our room was on the top floor (8C) and had beautiful views of the pool and grounds. Room was super clean when we arrived and was cleaned every day. A/C worked really well, which was a nice treat when we were returning from being out in the sun all afternoon! My one watch-out on booking rooms would be to book far away from the pool. There was a wedding reception while we were there and a very loud Happy Hour. Fortunately we couldn't hear any of the noise in our room but I can't imagine it not being loud in the rooms directly above the bar and/or nearby. All in, I would highly recommend this resort. It's unlikely we'll be back in Belize anytime soon, but if we were going back I wouldn't hesitate to stay again at Coco Beach.

Incredible Ambergris Caye Coco Beach Resort

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Friendly & attentive service. There are numerous water features (lobby, restaurant, bar are pillars with water running down, so don't lean on them!
Cons: In-room telephones
Location: A few miles North of the airport. Easy access via water taxi. The resort has golf carts available for rent and there is much to do nearby and/or town
From the time we stepped foot into the water taxi to the time we were returned to the airport for our flight home, everyone at this beautiful resort made us feel welcome and important. Upon arrival we were greeted with a cocktail & toured through the grounds before checking in then escorted to our room--our baggage was entirely handled from the dock and transported to us via wheel barrel--Brilliant!! The pools are beautiful --One with a warm water adult-only swim up bar. The other pool has a man-made rock structure with a water slide. There is a cafe for breakfast/lunch and restaurant for dinner, however meals can also be ordered in-room & at the pool bar. There are single rooms, 1 bdroom and 1 bdroom villas and suites that are all gorgeously decorated in island theme. You must visit; you'll be sorry if you stayed somewhere else, and then toured Coco Beach Resort. There is free WiFi in the reception area with two complimentary computers to use. Love, Love, Love this resort. We traveled with friends with a teenage son and we ALL enjoyed our accomodations. We had a King bed room (201) , and they had a 2 bdroom villa (9A). We recommend both!

Pros: Very clean. Grounds were kept up constantly. The staff was beyond nice. Very accommodating.
Location: Lots to do. Renting a golf cart and riding around the island was really fun. Always something to do and lots of watersports.
Excellent service and beautiful resort! I would highly recommend this place. We are definitely coming back here soon. One of the best places I've ever stayed!!

Coco Beach Resort

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Everything, but if I had to pick one thing it would be the staff. Totally felt like family and was treated like I was the most important person there!
Location: Lay on the beach, swim in the pool. Kayak, paddle board, go on snorkeling or scuba trips, excursions, visit San Pedro; could go and on.
We stayed a week at Coco Beach resort (unit A2). I have not one single thing to complain about. The room was beautiful and well kept up. The daily cleaning service was immaculate. The grounds were beautiful. This unit sits right on the beach (ground floor level) and looks right out on the ocean. We could lounge on our front porch and view the beautiful scenery. Prior to arrival, we were in contact with Julianne, who made sure all the tours we wanted to book were in place before our arrival and checked with us often to make sure we were happy with everything from our room, the service, the tours, etc. The facility has a nice pool; one section of the pool is deep, with a jumping ledge and water slide. A second portion of the pool is more shallow with fountain and volleyball net. Yet another section is a very hot hot tub! Feels so great after being in the ocean. Then there is also part of the pool that goes up to the bar with water warm enough that you don't feel like you have to get out after a certain amount of time; you stay warm the entire time. The pool guys (Larry and Jonathan) were fun, outgoing and would do anything for you. Jonathan even got two coconuts for my husband to enjoy out of the coconut trees. The bar and pool bar are definitely the most fun places to hang out. All the bartenders and wait staff were fun and gave excellent service. Food from the nearby CocoBlanco restaurant could be ordered here and the drinks were great (especially the Choco banana drink!)

Horrible experience!!!

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Really... nothing!
Cons: Management WiFi service Food & Restaurants Cleanness of the beach Maid service to clean the coffee maker we use previous day.
Location: Is not good. It's far from San Pedro Town. There is almost no restaurants around.
There is no food in the Hotel!!! This is NOT a resort. Is a expensive 4 star hotel with no elevators. At breakfast there is only a coffee shop and if you like a full breakfast you have to walk two hotels north in the street to another same owner hotel to get the brekfast ...very poor in the menu and very slow service. At dinner we where waiting for 1 hours 40 minutes in the only Hotel restaurant name CocoBlanca and the food NEVER show up. The manager apologies but didn't bring us the food. We have to sleep that night not eating dinner. The hotel is far from San Pedro town, there are no options where to eat. There are no telephones in the room so if you need something you have to walk three floors down to the front desk to ask for something. WiFi doesn't work in the hotel with very very poor signal only in front desk area you can get good signal. The beach is dirty with plants. A lot of mosquitos at night!!! I don't understand why this hotel is so high rated. Probably the same hotel staff or personal are rating high the hotel. Expedia needs to supervise this.

With more than one option for breakfast, lunch and dinner available to our guests, we are confident that we provide our guests with as much choice and in most cases more choices than our island peers do and are encouraged to read so many positive reviews about our restaurant and cafe, from other validated guests who stayed here during the same time you did. It is true that WIFI and internet service in Belize is not as strong, fast and reliable as many other areas of the world and we are hoping that improves countrywide soon. In the meantime we will continue to work hard to provide our guests with the best service possible in the public areas of the resort, free of charge. Coco Beach has a spraying program in place, however mosquitoes can come out after short tropical rains, so it is important for potential guests traveling to Belize, elsewhere in the tropics, or even areas such as South Florida to be aware of that and pack and wear insect repellent as needed. We sorry we do not have an elevator. We are sorry there was Sargassum Seaweed washing up on the shore during your stay. This season Sargassum Seaweed has affected the coastline from Mexico all the way to Honduras. Once again, we would like to apologize for the challenges you encountered during your stay. We are even more disappointed to learn that all efforts we made to make things right while you were onsite, still did not leave you with a positive impression of Coco Beach Resort.

Highly Recommend Coco Beach Resort!

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: The pools - loved having first floor room that stepped right out to one of them. Great staff!
Cons: no ice machines, but the staff will bring you some. Elevators - 3rd floor first day was a little much. Moved to first floor second day.
Location: San Pedro has great shopping, lunch and available excursions.
Amazingly friendly, informational staff. Two Clean fabulous pools, swim up bar and the slide is a blast. The restaurant taken over by a couple in the last 13 weeks have done a fantastic job. The menu is super reasonable (twin tails with a side for $22). The lobster tails can be ordered grilled or steamed and they are decent size and come with a side. Can be shared by two, just added a side salad. They have an excellent variety of breakfast, lunch and dinners and everything is great! We were always content just hanging out and relaxing right at the resort. You can easily get over to San Pedro which is a must - using their free bicycles, rent a golf cart or take the water taxi. We will be back!

Thanks again for choosing Coco Beach Resort and for taking the time to write such a helpful review. A couple of notes to potential/future guests to avoid any misunderstandings or disappointment: 1. Lobster season does close for several months each year Feb - June 2. Bicycles are actually US$5 per day Looking forward to hosting you again!

Lovely place

I had a wonderful stay at coco beach resort! The only complaint that I have is with the restaurant. They misheard what I ordered via phone. When I brought their attention to the mistake they just said sorry but didn't offer to fix the issue. Also I ordered room service once again and was quoted 30 minutes but was yet an hour. I feel they would have left me waiting longer if I didn't call their attention to my order. They did give me a complimentary dessert. So they fixed one out of two issues. Staff here is amazing! They were all very friendly and very personable.
