“Would go back”

Nice quaint hotel in heart of Belize City, within walking distance of ocean and easy access to pier for boat rides to touristic islands (Cayes - Caulker, Amber griss). Very nice and helpful owner/manager. Helped me get in touch with office of the PM of Belize, and got me the list of members of the new government promptly upon request. The rice and beans dinner (Belize national dish) could be improved, and the breakfast could have been impoved with simple addition of a Creole roll/bun (a Delicious local bread) and beef saussages for non-pork eaters. Very satisfying overall. I will happily revisit if I came to Belize.

“Use this hotel if you're travelling on a shoe string”

The owner of the hotel is extremely nice and helpful, always there to ensure that her guests are contented and comfortable. Although a bed and breakfast, no problem having three nice meals. I felt very much at home and would definitely use this hotel again. If you're travelling on a limited budget, this is the place to stay. Although not a 5 star hotel, it's clean, the food is good, you get personal attention, and is located in a nice part of the city, not far from most places

“Would use again”

Would use again because of how friendly Diane was. It was definitely not your first class American hotel but it certainly was good for a few nites. It had a restaurant right on the property which was quite good.

“Basic, relatively inexpensive place to spend a night.”

This is a very simple, unpretentious hotel. Room furnishings are clean but shabby. The front door was kept double-locked and I was warned not to carry my purse where it would show. We were glad to be able to eat dinner and breakfast at the hotel rather than going out, although the neighborhood didn't look all that bad to me. The meals are rather pricey for the quality. The hotel is quite convenient to the water taxi dock.

“hotel was fine for a city that can be avoided”

Belize City is not somewhere I would recommend staying, unless absolutely unavoidable. The hotel was fine, not great value for money however that appears to be the case for most accommodation in Belize. I recommend only catch taxis after dark in this city. two areas for improvement: My room door had marks on it that looked like there had been at least one attempt to open it without a key. I was asked if I could check out of the room earlier so that the cleaner could finish and leave early. This epitomises the countries work ethics which is quite sad.

“Basic place, not much to offer”

The room was really basic but I don't expect much for 2 stars. It's not in a great part of town so one shouldn't walk around at night, so we ate at the hotel restaurant. They had only 2 menu items (fries w/burger or fries w/fried shrimp), it was VERY expensive for what we got, and they couldn't prepare enough for the 4 people there. They were nice people and the room was quiet, but I was glad to leave the next day.

“seen better”

the room i stayed in seemed like it was a permanent residence for a person who had vacated the room for our stay. there were personal effects and medication in the bathroom cabinet along with person pictures of babies. i wasn't expecting much from the room-- it served its purpose. wouldn't go back but you get what you pay for.

“You get what you pay for.”

Inexpensive, but bathroom was very mildewed. Sheets were mismatched. Towels were old and frayed. No one cleaned our room after our first night because we didn't "leave the key". ??? What's up with that!? The woman who cleaned our room also ran the front desk and cooked upstairs in the restaurant. The front door was triple locked at all times; I had to buzz and wait to be let it. This led me to feel I was in an unsafe neighborhood.

“Very disappointing stay.”

The A/C does not work properly-Cools only to the extent of the bed next to it.No fan in the room. The room is dingy and not well lit.The linen is very old and smelly. We booked for 2 double beds and were instead put in 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed.My children were scared to climb the bunk bed which kept swaying and defintely unsafe.Zero amenities except for 2 small soap bars. Will never stay at this hotel again.

“Few reliable hotels in Belize City, but this is not one of them!”

I just have to say, I am so disappointed in this hotel. This was one of the most expensive hotels I stayed at during my 10 days through Yucatan, Belize and Guatemala, and by far, the worst. NO Hot water. NO internet in room. NO breakfast included NO 24hr staff- had to ring bell outside for 15mins before someone finally opened the door. The rooms are extremely dated and old.
