Excellent Hotel and staff

Posted Jun 20, 2015
The Grand Caribe and it's staff was unbelievable. I had a two bedroom on the bottom floor and loved it. The room was clean and very comfortable. Had everything we needed and then some. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff at the pool bar was a blast. Food was great at the "Rain " restaurant. Rain also supplied the food for the pool area and room service. If I can make it back to San Pedro island Belize there is no other place I would stay. the Grand Caribe is far and away the best place on the island.

Came to scuba on barrier reef. Skunked for 12 days in a row. Too rough. Not much more to to but pool. Restarants mostly so so.

Great Place

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Layout of 2 bedroom condo and view were perfect, close to dock and several pools. Swim up bar was fun. Top of the line appliances throughout.
Cons: Room darkening shades. Improve transportation - ferry full, had to purchase extra flight so we didn't miss other flights going home adding more $.
Location: Bike rentals on beach - short walk from condo - $5/half day/$8/for the day. Rain, Elvi's, Capricorn, El Patio, Fidos-good eats, kayak/snorkel at dock.
One of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed at. Staff very helpful/courteous. Golf cart rental is fun but pricey. Snorkeling at Hol Chan and Sting Ray Alley are tops. Wish bike rentals were right at resort. Food is very expensive.

Pros: Clean
Cons: More control over Villa owners.
Location: Fish, snorkel, dive and water sports. This is not a place for small children as there is really nothing for them to do with the exception of the pools
Although the Villa was lovely, the furniture was worn out and the beds were like sleeping on rocks. The owner of G9 dishes were chipped and the worst appointed kitchen I have ever had in a rental. The resort itself is very pricey and the drinks were terrible. I will not rent a villa again there. Place was clean though.

Everything is fabulous except the restaurant. The condo has a full kitchen I would eat there when you don't want to go out. Excellent restaurants are nearby

Outstanding Resort on Abergris Caye

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Acccomodation was three bedrooms, three bathrooms with a fully equiped kitchen, dining and living rooms and several balconys. My party of six stayed for six days. It was our first visit to Belize and everyone had a great time. The staff at Grand Caribe was helpful and all we encountered were cheerful and welcoming. We took advantage of the Grand Caribe's provision stocking service which provided us with a customized list of grocerices deliveried in the room at arrival. We also booked several offsite activities which were easy to arrange. Several pools are available and the primary pool also includes a full service swim up bar. Most offsite activities leave from Grand Caribe's private dock. A few memorable restaurants are within walking distance, including their newly opened Rain restaurant. And San Pedro with it's shops, restaurants, etc. is easily accessible via golf cart rental.

Beautiful property! Beautiful view!

Posted Mar 30, 2014
We had a lovely visit! Our suite was 3 bedroom, two level (C9) and it was equipped with everything we needed. Indeed, views from any room would be spectacular. The water looks inviting but there are really no swimmable beaches - too much sea grass. You'd have to go out on a dock and jump in if swimming is your passion. The hotel restaurant is VERY basic; walk north along the beach and you'll find several wonderful dining options - Aji and Capricorn were two of our favorites. Carry your cell phone flash light at night. No lights along beach and it's quite dark. You will need a golf cart to get around. Overall, it was a GREAT vacation at a BEAUTIFUL property. Be sure to get your silver jewelry while in Belize. Prices are UNBELIZABLE!! Sun is very HOT so be ready! Enjoy

Beautiful rooms and terrible service

Posted Mar 24, 2014
The rooms are clean and spacious. Pool is beautiful with incredible views. The service and food were awful. The food wasn't fresh so we ate our meals at other places. The waiters served the wrong drinks or forgot about our orders all together. They have some major service issues to work out.
