THE HOTEL WAS MORE LIKE AN APARTMENT/ CONDO. IT WAS CLEANED EVERY MORNING AND OFFERED MUCH MORE THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED. THE ROOM WAS SPOTLESS AND STAFF WAS CONSTANTLY ON TOP OF ALL MAINTENCE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE. CHECK THEM OUT ON YOUTUBE.

This villa was the nicest place that I have ever stayed! The staff was very welcoming and ready to help at any time. The area is beautiful! Comfortable bed, beautful kitchen and baths! We will definitely return!

“Great Surprise!”

Given the low price and lack of four stars, I didn't have high expectations for the Banana Beach Resort. But it was a great surprise. The property is pretty and well maintained. The staff was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. It is situated south of San Pedro town, about a 15 minute walk. I found it nice to be out of the bustle; others may disagree. However, I have nothing but fond memories of the Banana Beach Resort.

“Absolutely stunning rooms, good service”

The place was gorgeous - decor, cleanliness, size, amenities - all top notch. Some dissapointing issues - perhaps as a result of it being off season. Little to no water pressure many days - very inconsistent and frustrating. Power outages often - good thing we had a portable alarm clock for our early morning trips! Arrived only to find out that the restaraunt was closed for renovation - a small problem since it's about a 15-20 minute walk from town. Fortunately the next door facility had a restaraunt, which is where we ate most days. Again, being the off season, sun sets early so walking into town at night was not the best option so our evenings were limited by our location. Wireless was spotty -not functional from our room. We had to be out on the pool deck (by the antenna) to use, but when you are there for R&R, who needs wireless? Overall, despite these issues, we would do it again. The peace & quiet was wonderful, the service througout the island was great, and the beauty of the place is magnificent. Two pieces of advice: take extra cash - food is expensive (though local rum and local beer is not!) and tips are endless; and take the hopper flight for the extra $90-$100/person round trip from BZE to San Pedro air strip-it's 20 minutes instead of 1.5 hr boat ride! And the staff will arrange it for you and transport you to/from air strip. Well worth the money spent - just what we were looking for!

“grand colony”

this was part of a sister hotel. During the first week of Sept. We were the only people there. I think it is a fractional owned , or timeshare or private owners per suite . There was no real front desk area, none except the guard and receptionist there. I think for one of the most expensive suites in Ambergris for the loe season , there should have been more customer service. I think for half the price , you could find more services elsewhere. I looked around. It was neat , clean and spacious.

The rooms were fantastic! Loved my jacuzzi tub! Would have given it a 5 if it provided hospitality services such as restaurant/food delivery. No pool service. But it is a condo-like resort w/kitchen and washing machine amenities. So bring your own and be prepared to enjoy the area at your leisure. The staff was a big plus. Very willing to help and provide information on a number of excursions and also transportation.
