Great location in a beautiful country!Posted Jul 6, 2013
Pros: What was not to like? Comfortable bedrooms, plenty of space, fully equipped kitchen perfect location!
Cons: It was a great hotel - can't think what could make it better!
Location: Maya beach bistro is a must for at least one meal. Take a couple of drives both north and south to see the local villages, like Hopkins.
Did not really know where this hotel was when I booked it but it turned out to be a perfect location for my family. Close enough to lots of places to explore, lovely and delicious restaurants and of course the beach front was awesome. So sad to have to leave and wish I was back there now! Would make this a home base for another trip to Belize without a doubt!

Anniversary TripPosted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: The rooms are large and private and the staff was wonderful.
Cons: The distance to the village and not having a car.
Location: If you want to get away from civilization, it is perfect.
Rosendo, the hotel's caretaker, met us at the Placencia Airport, loaded and unloaded our lugggage and gave us a ride to the hotel. The manager, Rene, and his staff were courteous and professional. The hotel is located very close to the Caribbean Sea. The grounds are immaculate and the service is first-rate. My wife and I were there for our 25th anniversary and had a wonderful time. Rosendo was an excellent tour guide to the mayan ruins, Xunantunich. We recommend this all day trip across Belize to everyone. It was an eye-opening experience. The hotel is 4 miles away from Placencia Village where you can buy souvenirs and groceries. The hotel has golf carts to rent if you want to see the Peninsula. We walked and boy was it hot. The pool is very clean. Rosendo cleans it daily. We did not smell any chlorine. The hotel was a perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of life in the States. There are no phones in the room. It did have internet and cable TV. I fell asleep in the hammock. That's something I can't do at home. It was hot but in May the winds blow constantly from the sea making it much more comfortable. We would go back again.

Great VeiwPosted Apr 22, 2013
Cons: nothing really except that it was quite away from the town, which is really small and not much to do there.
Location: great location and veiw from the rooms
the hotel was great and the veiw was fantasic, closest veiw we had, right next to the ocean. there is also a great spot to eat right next door at the Roberts grove. The girls at the front desk were really nice I belive they were twins.

The staff at Laru Beya is top-notch and so helpful. They scheduled all of our day trips, and we had awesome guides for each excursion. Couldn't be happier with the experience.

Laid BackPosted Mar 25, 2013
Pros: Front Desk Staff, Pool.
Cons: Size of room, shower and bathroom was outdated and small
Location: Center of Penninsula. A little drive to everywhere.
The staff were very friendly and warm. The accomodations were satisfactory. If you are expecting a 5 star resort and trying to compare to what you have seen in other countries, this is not what you will find at this resort. We paid $250 per night for what you would typically pay $150 in other countries, but it is Belize. Laid back, low on supply of hotels and as such, high prices. Still we had a fantastic time and the place was good.
