“Overall, a Three Star Hotel”

When we arrived in our room the smell of mold was over whelming. There were puddles of water in the bedroom, living room and kitchen. We wiped up the puddles because housekeeping never came. Later in the evening the puddles came back, but when I called down to the front desk no one came. While I was taking a shower I noticed the water rising and it started to spill into the rest of the bathroom because water was not draining properly. We called to the front desk and although they were slow to react they finally moved us. During our stay we also had a water outage and clogged toilet. Las Terrazas looks exactly as advertised. It's a beautiful place. I plan to go back to Belize, but next time I will stay at CoCo Beach. Thier website does not do them justice. It's actually equally as nice as Las Terrazas on the outside.

“Lovely people and you can relax”

We stayed at Las Terrazas Belize November 2008, the restaurant was not yet open nor was the bar, it want not possible even to get a soft drink at the pool. Realistically the hotel should not have been open, contractors are still actively working on the site. It should be a great place to stay when it is finished!! There are plenty of other hotels within walking distance at which you can eat. The hotel staff could not be nicer and were friendly and chatty, very nice people. We did not spend much time at the hotel, spent most of the day out and about..if you are a stay by the pool person this is not he place for you ..until it is finished.

“A 5 star hotel with 2 star service...”

This is a very nice, newly built resort. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, the service of this hotel is horrid as they try to stiff you out of every penny. In particular, they tried to charge us for a third person (who was just visiting us for the day). They also tried that another time when we had two friends come over to join us for lunch. It took us forever to convey that these were just guests (and the male receptionist didn't speak very good english). Overall, the place is nice, but there are other nice places in Belize so I would recommend staying elsewhere. Additionally, the front desk is only open till a certain hour (I believe 8pm) and you can't get any service after that. Plus there is no room service. Again, plenty of competition on the island for good places with great service so I suspect this place will be dying for travels soon as they get turned off by poor service.
