“The best vacation we've ever had!”

My wife and I decided to get away to sunny Belize to celebrate two years together and we couldn't have known when we booked at Singing Sands that we'd never want to come back home. Everyone on the staff couldn't have been more nice. The cabanas are simple, clean, and comfortable. No more than you need and no less. The restaurant was simply the best, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu offers a little for everyone. But order whatever fish is in season, you will not regret it. The Red Snapper was delicious! The property has been expertly landscaped and makes you feel like the buildings just grew out of the beach with the palm trees and flowers. There is not a lot to do that's very close by but a bike ride to Placencia and back was fun, and a good work out too. Do yourself a favor and call Singing Sands before you leave to set up some excursions ahead of time. Some things, like scuba diving and Maya ruins day trips are more likely to happen if you call ahead. Also call to get a flight set up from Goldson International to Placencia. It's not cheap but will get you there in 45 minutes, versus a full day or more riding a bus. It was absolutely worth it. Learned the hard way. Bar none, this was the best vacation we ever had.

“Wonderful oasis in Placencia”

Our arrival at Singing Sands Inn followed a grueling day of travel including 23 miles on an underconstruction road with a rental with no shocks. We were just hoping for someplace to stay that wasn't the car - and what we found was a delight! Maya and Michael run a quaint, well appointed Belizean oasis. The dock is the very best we saw on our whole trip with a lovely seating area, hammock over the water, fishing boats and bar. The restaurant serves wonderful Asian entrees that appealed to everyone in our group. Sleeping under a thatch roof on the sea was a new experience and utterly charming. The beach and pool are attractive and well kept. Overall we were extremely pleased by our stay from the food to the atmosphere to the friendly service. One small note to travelers with privacy reservations: the cabana bathroom, while attractive and modern, are not entirely private from the bedroom - a half wall is present but no door.
