“Older but very nice and very convient to town and diving”
We had a very nice stay and Paradise Villa. The managers for our villa were very nice and accommodating. The villa's are located within a block of 2 grocery stores. You can walk anywhere in town in minutes. The resort has their own pier that you can be picked up at if you want to do water sports. There is a dive shop next pier over with a great staff to take you diving or snorkeling. The villa's grounds and pool were kept very clean. The rates are very reasonable.
“Tradewinds Paradise Villas”
Our stay here was incredible. We were graciously greeted by Lelo our taxi driver who picked us up at the Air Tropics airport and after brief tour of the town which included where to eat where to drink and most importantly where to find the islands best ice cream we were dropped off at the Paradise Villas. When you arrive at the Villas you are introduced to Manuel. He is the hotel manager and an all around good guy. After you check in be sure to stop by and say hi to him. He can recommend places to eat, things to do and even arrange excursions for you. He booked our trip to Lamani and it was unbelizable. The best rooms to stay in are 21A and 2B. If you want a pool view go with 21A, if its an ocean view you desire then 2B is the choice spot. Everything you need is within walking distance including a local grocery store, a killer local restaurant called The Reef, and the best dive shop on the island, Ecologic Divers, is only a 2 to 3 minute walk down the beach. Not bad place to end up, I highly recommend the Paradise Villas.
“Good service, friendly people.”
The service was terrific. Housekeeping was very thorough. We really enjoyed our view of the beach. The gounds upkeep was good. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.
“It was great”
We had a wonderful time staying a Tradewinds. The main part of our trip was to go scuba diving. The dive shop was only a few yards from the hotel. We were able to go back to our room or pool to relax in between dives. There were several grocery stores within walking distance so the kitchen area was very handy. We were also close to several restuarants. Everyone staying at the site were very friendly. There are limited hours that the office is open but it wasn't an issue until when we were leaving when we had a bit of confusion about where to leave our keys, etc.
“totally perfect !!!!!”
the tradewinds offered us everything we needed. the staff was friendly and obliging and helped us with our transportation needs. our suite was perfect. the was even complimentary water in the fridge. it was like our home away from home
“Great place to stay!”
Tradewinds is a great resort, centrally located on San Pedro island. There's a private dock (the only problem: if you choose to swim in the ocean off the dock, it's pretty difficult to get back up onto the dock, due to the lack of a ladder so you might need to walk back up to the beach). The hotel is located right next to the Caye Caulker Water Taxi Terminal--no need to take a cab to the hotel. Each villa comes with a kitchen, dining area, living room, bathroom and bedroom and the hotel is a minute or so walk to two grocery stores. We cooked breakfast every day that we were not on an excursion, so we were able to save some money on food. It's also really close to some delicious restaurants and great tour options. The main guy at the hotel (whose name escapes me) was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The only problem we had was a lack of towels, we had exactly three (and there were three of us staying at the hotel), but you'll definitely need more when you are out doing things...the towel thing was definitely minor though, and did not downgrade the rest of the experience at the hotel. There is a great pool and seating area, but towards the end of the week, we noticed that the water was a little dirty (maybe gets cleaned once a week or so?)
“Great location”
We had a great time at this place. Our flight got delayed in Houston,TX by an hour but when we landed in San Pedro Airport, there was a gentleman waiting to take us to the hotel. We got the room 23A which faces the ocean, breathtaking view. We stayed for a week and relaxed. Scuba shop Ecologic Divers is within walking distance. We had a great scuba diving and snorkelling experience. Manuel from the front office was very helpful, Everyone at the property was very nice and helpful.
“Not exactly as I thought”
This hotel is actually a group of timeshares. Only a few of the condos are managed by this company. We enjoyed the convenience of the location and the friendliness of the housekeeper. The swim-up bar is not stocked or staffed. The office hours are 9am-5pm with no phone in the rooms, so no way to contact anyone if there is a problem. The "king" size bed is really just two twin beds with somekind of adjoining band, so there is a gap in the middle. It wasn't a bad hotel, just not what we expected.
