Beautiful front beach hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: The beach seems to be the best of the area because it does have some clears without seagrass (the nears hotels didn't looks like that)
Cons: The shower water, its sea water; after a few days you really wish for some fresh water for your hair and body.
Location: The place is like 25 min from downtown which is great so you can relax; you can only access to the hotel by water taxi, consider this.
It's a 5-rate place (except for the sea water in the shower) Awesome place with the best beach in the area. You can just rest on the beach or use the kayaks, paddle boards and pool. They also have the No worries tours with is a great plus, they have amazing tours from snorkeling to mayan ruins or cave tubing. Hotel restaurant menu is kind of limited but they can take you to some other near restaurants (by water taxi). Rooms have a kitchener, we brought some cereal and a few bites for the day, It was a good move.

Great potential, not quite there yet...

Posted Aug 14, 2014
The good and bad as follows.. The Good: #1 The highlight of this property is no doubt the restaurant and restaurant staff. The chef is top notch in all areas. B-fast, lunch and dinner. The food was outstanding. The wait staff was also stellar. Very personable and attentive. #2 Smaller resort makes for a more quiet and intimate environment. #3 Maintenance staff works tirelessly to keep the beach front and property and rooms clean and operational. #4 Security staff very thorough ensuring 24-7 safety and security throughout the property. The Bad: #1 Not a convenient location if you want easy access to San Pedro. This property is 7 miles north of town and the water taxi is $18.00 US round trip each time you want to venture into town for groceries, affordable alcohol and souvenirs. There is no shuttle to town other than the courtesy pick up and drop off on arrival and departure. #2 On site tour operator over priced and not outwardly customer friendly. #3 Alcohol costs astronomical. Secure your own in San Pedro and stock the fridge. #4 Shower and sink water is extremely odiferous. However, a large filtered drinking water tank is maintained in each room. Bottom line: If you want to stay put and not have to bother with cooking and providing your own liquor and food, be prepared to budget for the high cost of meals, excursions and liquor on site. If you desire to frequent San Pedro, be prepared for the $18.00 round trip water taxi each time.

Great beach close to snorkeling and water fun

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Great beach and proximity to snorkeling and water activities. Very clean facility.
Cons: Better water or at least divulgence of situation. More attentive housekeeping staff.
Location: Snorkeling at reef so close to hotel. Quick trip to San Pedro for much better food and tour options. We found tours nearly half the cost of hotel.

Excellent Hotel and Great Staff

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: the beds were very comfortable. Having the kitchen was paramount to save money on food if you are on a budget.
Cons: The water from the shower had a very salty taste. Hotel restaurant, expensive for the amount of food given, if you charge high then give more portion
Location: Suggest the Myan Ruins Tour and definitley the HoChin snorkel tour.
I would say that the whole experience was fantastic. The one thing I will remember is Hugo who assisted us with a very inexpensive way to fish and catch our food. He not only provided us with the equipment and there was no pole, he also showed us how to cook one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The food was a little pricey, however there were several people that went to other restaurants on the island with excellent recommendations. The only negative that happened was that there were a few locals that were walking through the resort with items that were not very friendly, however the staff handled it perfect and there were no real incidences and they said that this was the first time that this has ever happened. It definitely seems to be a majority of people that were there for their honeymoon, however we did see some families, so its an all around great place to stay Great time

Ideal island oasis

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Plenty of amenities & activities, good food and drinks, good atmosphere for families, couples or just groups of friends
Cons: The food and drink options were fantastic but slightly pricey
Location: Resorts within walking distance for trying other restaurants/bars, downtown San Pedro (~8miles) was a good place to drink/eat/shop
My wife and I stayed at the resort for one week during the low season (roughly June-October), and it was fantastic. The resort itself was well-kept and comfortable, while boasting amenities that surpassed our expectations (full kitchen with living room and balcony with hammock!). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and they were always more than happy to give guidance on what to do/eat/drink during our stay. There were plenty of activities to do on-site (water trampoline, snorkeling & fishing off the dock, kayaking, paddle boarding, pool), and the bar and restaurant exceeded our expectations. Although the resort is somewhat far from downtown San Pedro (~8miles), there are water taxis and shuttles that could do the trip in about 25-30 minutes. Neighboring resorts provided additional restaurants to try, and many of them offered free shuttles upon reservation. Overall, it was the perfect place to have our honeymoon, and Belize was a great choice in general.

Best vacation ever.

Posted Jul 27, 2014
We were there for 2 weeks. By the time we left we felt like we were leaving family. I have never stayed in a place where they made you feel like you were at home. Fabio at the bar, went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. Oliver the manager and his dog were out everyday on the beach, roaming around making sure you had everything. Betty our housekeeper was fabulous, we missed her when she left for her own short vacation. Hugo security guard is a great person and I loved listening to his stories. Hill from No Worries tours made sure we knew about the best days to go on tours and have the best experiences possible. We loved the culture and learned so much about Belize way of living. We will go back. We will make sure we bring friends.

Beautiful accommodations and fantastic staff.

Personally I think that X'Tan Ha has the best beach on Ambergris Caye and possibly the friendliest staff. I celebrated my birthday at X'Tan Ha. The owners and management were very welcoming and the staff went out of their way to make my birthday memorable and enjoyable. I honestly can't recommend X'Tan Ha enough. When you book there be sure to tell Oliver hello and give buddy a scratch behind the ears.

Perfect Resort

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: staff and management
Location: The water taxi into town is only about 5 minutes, but other resorts and restaurants are only a bike ride away.
The staff and management were OUTSTANDING!!!! They made our trip our best vacation we have ever had. This was the only resort with a true beach entry!!! This a great resort for groups and families since there are full kitchens, a sitting area, and patios with every room. All excursions were easily booked at the resort with No Worries Tours which have the same customer service as the staff at the resort. They made our arrival to and from San Pedro (with all arrangements verified and provided by the front desk) an ease. We will be back!!!!!

Very Relaxing and friendly!

From the time I stepped off the boat, I experienced nothing but pure joy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, kind and generous. It was nice to come 'home' after a day in town. The facility was clean and comfortable. If there was an issue, I ran out of coffee, it was resolved immediately. I was at X'tan Ha for 11 days. I would return without hesitation.

Nice hotel, nice room, nice staff

Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: It has a nice view of the ocean, a nice balcony and the staff make it most enjoyable.
Cons: Shower water smells of sulfur.
Location: We loved the quiet location and there was just the right amount of activities for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our snorkeling/fishing/barbeque trip.
We had a great time at X'tan Ha. The staff was very friendly. Our room was very nice. It was a bit too windy, so we may change the date should we return.
