We had a great spring break X’Tan Ha, and recommend it highly. The resort grounds and pools are very nice, and the beach and water was very clear. The restaurant serves good food daily, and it was convenient being on the property. The one downfall would be that you can’t charge the items to your room, so you need to pay every time. A minor inconvenience overall. The servers were always friendly. Just like any Caribbean restaurant and bar, patience is required, so sit back and relax. Eating over the water was amazing, while watching the fish and having the sea breeze and sun, also plenty of shade if needed too. The room was comfortable and clean, for our family of 3. Our daughter stayed in the sofa bed, and the king size bed was comfortable for my wife and I. There’s a little wood rot outside due to salty air, so be careful. The kitchenette and full size refrigerator was nice too. There are some small convenience stores along the way to the resort to get some drinks and snacks, as well as some fruit stands. There are many restaurants on the island. Most are a bit of a distance away, but all had good food overall. The closest was In-D-Wild, and the food was delicious and relatively cheap too with their pricing. The best restaurant we went to was Aji. Don’t skip that one for sure. Others were the Sun Deck, Rum Dog, Truck Stop. All good but Aji stood above them all. Again be patient as most meals were easily an hour-island time. Have fun!

Our stay at this resort was wonderful. The staff was friendly and always available to help. The rooms were lovely and clean. The only complaint, if this even counts, is pool towels were hard to come by. Most often out and we never did figure out the best time to get a clean one! Wifi was very weak and didn’t work a lot of the time. Overall, wonderful resort and we would absolutely stay again.

Unfortanely, we have been experiencing power failures island wide and these have caused our wifi signals to be weak. Regarding the Towels, we experienced some technical issues with the laundry machines, due to the constant power failures around the island. Gladly, we have resolved and have received an additional stock of pool towel, to ensure we don't have a repeat pool towel issue. Thank you once more! Fantastic for what I was looking for, which was a quiet place, not some mini-Cancun. The resort is small but very well-run. I was surprised (and delighted) to find that my casita included a living area and kitchenette. If you’re looking to really get away, I highly recommend X’Tan Ha!

When they finally clean your room on the third day, they leave all of the stuff they took out of your room such as linens right outside your front door for the next two days. I’m leaving today, so I don’t know when they’re gonna pick it up. The restaurant that opens at eight opens whenever it wants to. You’re at the mercy of that restaurant because there is zero to eat anywhere. The office has zero to eat, it is very very limited. It’s $100 to go 7 miles into town via the hotel. They do have shuttles every two hours but you get charged for everything here. It’s much more advantageous to stay in town. They’re friendly in town. They are , it is very very limited. Hello Jim,We are sorry to hear your experience at X'Tan Ha Resort was not the best. we appreciate the feedback in things we have done wrong to correct them in the future and make a better experience.The restaurant is operated by a third party and were experiencing a shortage of staff on the day of the incident, that has been addressed to their management and they have improved in the proper opening hours for our guests.Our office only has small snacks to offer our guests should they have a sweet tooth moment, they are aware of the property located 8 miles from town, so they book golf carts ahead of time for their stay or make a stop for grocery purchasing prior to arrival as to not be travelling in town too often.Our shuttle service is offered for our guests only upon their departure for convenience of getting back on their travel day and regular taxi services are available upon request at the costs in which the drivers charge us.We will keep improving our services to ensure our future guests do not have the same experience as you did, Once again we deeply apologize for the inconvenience.

During my visit in Belize I stayed at X'tan Ha. First of all the ocean front location is amazing, the staff is nice and friendly, but Alex at the bar goes above and beyond with everything. The rooms are great, the place over all is a tranquil escape from my everyday life. On another hand It is away from San Pedro. You will need a golf car to get there. I will be back for sure

X’Tan ha is a lovely resort. The staff was very helpful. You have many conveniences you just have to ask at reception and the staff will help you out with any need. The accommodation was nice, comfortable and had everything we needed. I would recommend X’Tan ha and we would definitely come back for another vacation.

Lovely place - Alex at the bar was GREAT! Big complaint was the bed was WAY too soft. Very uncomfortable if you like any kind of support when you sleep. Would be nice if kitchenette had more ammenities (like coffee filters) as there is no place close to buy that kind of thing.

This property was so much more than what we expected! We were able to schedule excursions from the property, had access to rent golf carts to go into town and there was also access to equipment for outdoor activities right there on the property.. Everyone on the staff was courteous and efficient. It also has a beautiful beach, the food was great and the bar and bartender, Alex, was entertaining and delightful! I would definitely come again!

We had a lovely room on the beach. The room was very comfortable. The AC worked well and the bed was very soft which I like. The full kitchen was great. Only complaint was some mornings the people above us were a bit loud and there were no black-out curtains so we often woke early. Kim at the on site dive shop is excellent. Alex at the bar is fantastic. The restaurant served delicious food though sometimes the service was slow but they were short staffed over the holiday and made up for it. The snorkelling wasn't great out front of the resort, but it was still nice to swim. Lots to do with free bike and kayak rentals, a giant chess board, and table tennis. It's pretty far from other hotels/restaurants but we rented a golf cart to get around. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall, it was a great stay. The accommodations were exactly as advertised and perfect for us. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were in great condition. We used the kitchen facilities, which is one of the reasons I booked this resort. It was definitely quiet and relaxing. The beach and facilities were kept very clean. We made our own beverages daily and, as such, needed ice frequently. It would have been better to have access to lots of ice other than the one ice tray in the freezer. The only other snag we had was that our credit card did not work at the resort, but worked everywhere else. This became an inconvenience of trying to find alternate payment methods. Finally, Alex made the BEST Bloody Mary I have ever had. Seriously, one of the highlights of the trip! Oh, and love Taco Tuesday!

Great value! It is a nice hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms. The pools and beach bar were great, but the restaurant food was just ok. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. It is a little far from town, but we did appreciate how quiet it was there and how we were able to rent golf carts or arrange transportation when we wanted to go to other places.

This is a beautiful property on the beach! The staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms are spacious and clear with well appointed kitchenettes. Swimming and snorkeling were phenomenal, and there were kayaks and paddle boards to take out. The food was average, the drinks are good. We rented a golf cart to explore more, and did not find a place to beat xtan ha. Highly recommended.

X'Tan Ha is way out there but totally worth it! I haven't seen all of them but even compared to a luxury resort down the way it's got the best beach on the island, beautiful, tranquil, shallow a long way out and you can kayak out to Mexican rocks and go snorkeling. The entire staff is very sweet and accommodating but Alex the bartender is the best! The bar is over the water and its own that large gazebo and you can eat out there for dinner as well. The environment is so great with two beautiful pools one with a shallow section with chaise lounges in it. The two-story dark wood houses with colorful trim have huge patios with hammocks from which you can see the sea! Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are free. Truly the best place. Just a couple of suggestions, they should really get a boat shuttle that goes to San Pedro so you don't have to navigate the long bumpy road. And while some of their food is quite nice the staff is pretty easily overwhelmed, and the food is really much tastier when they stick to casual and snack food. Personally, I wouldn't do the attempts at the fancy stuff. A grilled fish station would be so much faster easier and very tasty!

This place is a haul to get to from the airport. It is a very nice location with two pools. The have standup boards, Kayaks to use and the water is fantastic. You cannot go into the nature reserve without a guide so no Mexican rock snorkeling on your own. Important to note is the bar and restaurant are not part of the resort which is a good thing because neither are very good. We did a bit of shopping for food and drinks which made things less expensive. The only really bad thing was upon arrival they offered a rum punch drink as a welcome but they didn't have it ready. They said they would bring it to us. Well after asking a few times and over 4 hours later, we got a watery punch drink with no ice or rum. This really put me in a bad mood from the start and the bar served sugary drinks with very little alcohol.

This property is out of town a ways. About 30 min golf cart ride. Road is not smooth but your on vacation so what’s 30 min! It was a beautiful resort and would stay again!

Quiet getaway
We were there in off season and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The pools and grounds were beautiful. The restaurant/bar was always open even though there weren’t a lot of people, so we always had somewhere to eat. The bar tenders were awesome. We rented a golf cart for our entire stay and drove into town daily. It was 25 minutes, not 45 like I had read in some other reviews. There was a lot of sargassum on the beach but they were cleaning it up daily. We took the kayak out to the blue water in order to swim in the ocean. Very relaxing getaway!

The staff was so friendly and hard working! When we arrived, there was seagrass washed up on the beach (which has been an issue this time of year in several areas). The staff worked tirelessly to clear the beach. We had just a few meals at the restaurant and the food was very good. The resort is pretty far north and there is not much near it. Golf cart rental is a must.

Overall our stay was good. It was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. There were just little things that I was disappointed about that seemed to add up. No phones in rooms and the the app they use to communicate didn’t work so I had to physically go to whom I needed to communicate with. Our toilet had problems and at one point I was the only one who seemed to be able to fix it. The sea grass kept coming in from the ocean and although the staff worked very hard to clear it, it was never ending. And unfortunately it smelled. The bar was great and the food was fine. We had a nice vacation, it just could have been better.

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. Unfortunately during your stay the whole island of Ambergris Caye and the Riviera Maya experienced an influx of sargassum seaweed. Thankfully it has subsided.

Love the resort super nice and the staff was amazing. Major kudos to Victor and the security guy Flipalberto sorry if I butchered his name. But the guys were amazing. The resort is however far from the city which made it tiring driving back and forth. It’s definitely amazing for families. I wish there were more restaurants on the resort with nearby excursions. And if there were I wasn’t aware of any

Great quiet place!
If you are looking for a clean and quiet place to stay, this is perfect. The only down side is that it is a 35-40 minute golf cart ride from town on a bumpy and poorly lit road.

This stay was amazing! The property was clean and safe. Any seaweed that washed ashore daily, the maintenance crew cleaned it up before the birds woke so always clean. So much to do at the resort without even leaving to town. We took the kayak and saw an abundance of sea life, manta rays and other rays just swimming along side of us. Allen at the front desk was the best. Above and beyond. Regardless if it’s their job or not they make you feel like family! For a very quiet and personable vacation, I highly recommend. This is not a crazy and loud place. So relaxing to simply reset all of life’s chaos!

This property was extremely well maintained. Beach raked several times a day, good food, awesome bar over water and close to other dining options via golf cart. The staff was friendly and helpful.....definitely would go back. We stayed at 4 properties during our vacation and this was our favorite.
