The Best Western Lakeway Inn and Conference Center features two wonderful restaurants onsite. The Oboe Cafe serves all meals daily and features a delicious weekend brunch. Such plates include Pumpkin Bread french toast, a California Crab Omelette and much more! Room service is available to all rooms daily from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m and from 5 p.m.-10 p.m.

“hospitality to the max hotel was excellent and yes we will be back”

“Best In Bellingham !”

Amazingly good help , _everyone_ was pleasant and wanted us to have a great stay , Only complaints : bed was way too soft , like a marshmellow and the Wi-Fi was terrible ~ too slow to be of any use . -Nate

Old Town Bellingham , lots of shops and places to see , walk , Farmer's Market , all manner of eateries , clean and quiet . Plenty of local Music places to see fresh acts . A nice marina with attached Marine Center for your kids to enjoy .

“A Best Western Plus indeed!”

Everything you expect in a Best Western and then some: a spacious lobby, well-appointed rooms, interior court yard with swimming pool, fine on-site restaurants, comfortable beds, plush towels, concierge-like help at the front desk (with print-outs of directions to get where you want to go). Good central location.

Area recommendations

Go for lunch at the Colophon Cafe in Fairhaven, an Italian dinner at D'Anna's downtown. Stroll the waterfront park.

“Good place to stay in Bellingham”

Very hand hotel to stay in. Close to Interstate 5. Is right next to Fred Meyers which is handly place to pick up forgotten items. Straight "shot" down Lakeview and State Streets to downtown Bellingham.

Area recommendations

Boulevard Park down by the water by Fairhaven which has a beautiful little coffee shop right down on the edge of the water with outside seating. Then a walkway built partly on piers out over the water that goes south for some distance to Fairhaven. On a Sunday afternoon this walkway is quite heavily used but during the week around sunset time, a wonderful place to go for a walk. Be sure to visit the ice cream shop downtown in Bellingham called "Mallards". Yummy ice cream sundaes - a real treat! Unfortunately understand that the Nimbus Restraurant on the top level of the highest? building in Bellingham is closing. There is a beautiful walk along Whatcom Creek starting by the falls.

“Oh my . . . .”

In town for a 5-8th grade boys basketball tournament - - on the same weekend as a drag queen pageant at the hotel. It was AWESOME!!

“Poor Services”

Upon check-in, everything seemed as normal. However, upon opening the ice bucket to go get some ice... a previous guest had left a crushed beer can that had been turned into a "smoking device" in the ice bucket, and the cleaning service failed to check. Aren't ice buckets something that are supposed to be checked and cleaned/replaced? And if they missed something so obvious, what else aren't they doing? I called the front desk and they came to collect it and bring a new ice bucket. However, there was nothing more done. Just a short apology from the guy who came to the room. For the price I paid/night, I expect something much, much better. I don't recommend staying here.
