Mercure - MinascentroPosted Aug 5, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is a old hotel that is badly in need of updating. The furniture in the ample apartment-style rooms is wore and dirty. The noise from the streets is very loud at night. The lack of utensils, plates, glasses and towels, bottled water, etc is indicative of a poorly managed property, which is pretty much the norm in Brazilian hotels.

Vacation Rentals are explosively on the rise - and this hotel is the main reason why. I've seen many a hotel and this one should charge no more than HALF its rates for what it offers. Complimentary breakfast at these high prices? NO. You will pay. Internet access at these high prices. NO. You will pay (even if they have internet "included" when they try to sell you the room - but they forget to mention "included" if you pay for it - quite unethical). You feel so "nickel-and-dimed" after your stay that the only thing you want to do is rush out of there to avoid any more of the "gotcha" feelings you had the entire time there. It is quite aesthetically displeasing and it's in an area where at night-time it's down-right dangerous. I don't mind low quality hotels, if that's what I am expecting and paying for. This hotel actually abuses the trust of not only the people who stay there but also of this service provider. Unless you are into getting significantly less than what you paid for, I suggest you exercise your right as a consumer and continue searching. With so many other options available today, this makes you never want to stay at a hotel again.

very spaciousPosted Jun 26, 2010 on Hotels.com
It's a different hotel room; it looks more like a small apartment. 2 bedrooms, 2 batrooms, a small kitchen all furnished. Nice breakfast selection, but high priced. It's located in a very central, downtown area, but it's hard to get to; very difficult access.

Surprise in Bello HorizontePosted Mar 4, 2010
This is a well located, good value hotel in Bello Horizonte, Brazil. I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and feel that I could recommend it to all of my friends as a my first choice for a hotel in this city.

Good location/great valuePosted Aug 6, 2009
We chose this hotel primarily for its proximity to the airport shuttle bus. We were here only one night to rest up before the long trip home, but this would be a great place for an extended stay, with a full kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The furnishings in the living room were dated, but the bedrooms and baths were modern and comfortable.
