Perfectly reasonablePosted Oct 5, 2012
Pros: Great mountain views - friendly staff
Cons: The rooms could be larger, and more modern. But really, it is good value for the money, and you can't beat the access to the mountains!
Location: Very easy to find - right on the main strip just before you enter the town
My girlfriend and I stayed at the St Anton for three nights in October 2012 - although we were originally booked into a very small room with two single beds, we asked and were upgraded at no cost to a much larger room with a terrace and view of the mountain. The room was basic, but had everything you would need, including a second floor attic with another bed and a couch. The staff were very friendly to us, and though we did not speak spanish, they were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has an interesting decor, with several sitting spaces in the lobby. We did not eat there, so cannot comment on the food. One interesting point which seems to be the norm for spanish hotels is that although there was an elevator, you have to go up a flight of stairs to access it. All in all, this was a perfectly reasonable (and inexpensive) place to use as a base for hiking trips in the surrounding mountains.
