Affordable lodging in a nice area

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: I was glad to have a microwave and mini-fridge for my restaurant leftovers (though, without so much as a coffee cup, I could not re-heat them.)
Cons: An effort to be green. Plus: I missed having an alarm clock as a back-up for my phone alarm.
Location: Smith Rock is not to be missed. I also spent an hour at the Redmond Caves and enjoyed lunch in the cute downtown.
The hotel had a bit of a strange vibe--hard to describe. It was a fine room for the price. Be prepared, though, for virtually NO amenities; the only toiletry in the bathroom was soap. The hotel advertises free coffee in the morning. Sadly, the only cups--in the room and in the common area--are styrofoam. The water cups in the room are plastic. I have traveled all over the world, and don't mind rustic....but would have appreciated a ceramic cup and a real water glass. It is right on Highway 97--and, while I found the hotel to be quiet, I needed to drive a short distance to take my morning jog.

Good for a night on the road

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Pretty fair price, and clean.
Location: Right off the main road though town, easy to reach.
Bring your own hair dryer. Refrigerator and microwave in room were a pleasant surprise. Air conditioning worked and wasn't too noisy. Bed was comfortable.

Surprisingly clean minimalist hotel, for a Motel 6

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: location, on the highway. cleanliness. seemed safe.
Cons: coffee earlier than 6pm; make the entire hotel smoke free.
Location: we were climbing a mountain abt an hour away, so it was fine. there are many restaurants in that city (within 10 min drive) and so it was fine.
the hotel was full! so i couldn't get a non-smoking room. they volunteered to air the room when we were out, the smoke smell still lingered. but was less obvious. the bathroom was minimalist (just the required soap bars, with only 2 towels) but clean. the room was supposed to have a microwave but it didn't. that could have helped to re-heat food in the morning. finally, the coffee was available at the lobby only at 6 and we had to leave at 6!:)

Pros: clean, simple, near town's main things.
Cons: sound proofing. Was on 2nd floor. Person above me on 3rd floor must have had his pet elephant with him which stomped around loudly. Stay on 3d floor
was good. However ceiling sound proofing could be improved. The elephant staying in the 3rd floor room above me was up waaay to early, making waaaay too much noise.

A nice hotel with comfortable facilities

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Security, access only to the room from the inside
Cons: more comfortable bed.
The bed, king size, was the only thing that was not totally comfortable. It was too hard.

Expensive and need a breakfast

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Room was ok
Cons: Serve a breakfast
Location: Food and shopping nearby
Booked online at what we thought would be a reduced price, but found out when we got there that the price was the same if we had walked in

just under ok

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: It was quiet and close to stores and eateries.
Cons: Try and get the stale cigarette smoke removed.
My room was in the back, which was nice and quiet. However, the back stair well smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and was dirty. The parking spots are small. I value my paint job, so parked farther away. The staff was very nice and helpful.
