Irritations!

Posted Apr 1, 2015 on Hotels
Upon entering the room, it began to feel like a comedy of errors. First, the "room with a golf course view" really had a view of some hedges only. Fortunately, there was one room left on a higher floor which we gladly moved to. In the new room, I immediately opened the extremely hard to open patio door, but instead of taking in the view as planned, I spent 5 minutes trying to remount the screen door which fell forward off its track the moment I touched it. Then, I walked over to the television which I could not get a signal for. I called for help and to their credit, someone came to fix it in a timely manner. I thanked him, he left, I picked up the remote to change the channel, and it did not work. I literally chased after the 'repairman' and when I git his attention, he returned only to tell me that the remote only works when it is within a few feet of the television. Okay, enough already, right? Not right.. Other annoyances such as only one bar of soap for a kitchen sink, two bathroom sinks and a shower, one garbage can for a bedroom and a bathroom, a bathroom floor that had numerous dark sticky spots on, no housekeeping services (seriously -- not even an offer for clean towels) despite the fact that several housekeeping carts were in the hall when we left and we did not return until 9pm. Eagle Crest is a very nice resort, and I expected to have a relaxing time. Of course, my stay wasn't ruined, but I was irritated over and over again.

We arrived early for a celebration of Life for a family member. We had been traveling and needed to change our clothes. They immediately found us a room and checked us in early. Lovely rooms and a beautiful area.

Good experience overall

The rooms were clean, had all the basic amenities, and we had free access to the sports center with an indoor heated pool and twin hot tubs. It was completely snowed in at the time we visited, so I can't comment on the golf course. If you're headed to Bend, and don't find accommodation there, this place in Redmond is a very nice alternative.
