A gem on the river

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Location, value, pools.
Cons: Room decor.
This was a wonderful experience! My wife and I loved the location, eating the continental breakfast on the river, as well as the two pool and spa options. The room came at an affordable rate, and we felt that the value of this hotel was impeccable. The room was clean and comfortable, although it was not the most beautiful or bright room that we have seen.

Bend Riverhouse

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Location on the river
Location: There are too many activities in Bend to list.
I first stayed at the Bend Riverhouse in 1977 during a college house dance and hadn't been back since. The facility has been well taken care of and was very clean, updated and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Having the sound of the Deschutes River was music to our ears.

Way better than expected

Posted Aug 15, 2014
This was a last minute booking, I wasn't expecting much especially in this price range-boy was I pleasantly surprised. The room was big and comfortable and clean and the balcony was overlooking a beautiful river. They had a pub and a resturant. Normally I avoid hotel restaurants in this price range but they even had room service and I was exhausted when I checked in so I tried it. The service was prompt and the food was very good-not gourmet but as good as any local resturant and I didn't have to leave the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was also better than expected and served on the patio over the river. If I'm back in Bend-this is where I will stay. The river guides in their hotel info pack, riverbourneoutfitters were also a great recommendation.

Cons: Nothing. We enjoyed the stay and would go back there again
Stayed one night. Nice place, good scenery walking a bridge over the river, quiet. Great breakfast in the morning. They had all kind of stuff. You could sit outside and wtch the Deschuttes river flow by. Another benefit: Late check out-- noon.

On the river, can bike or drive downtown

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Updated room and being right by the river and the path to downtown and beyond
Cons: It could be within walking distance of downtown - but then it would be more expensive.
Location: We had bikes dropped off and biked downtown and beyond. Bend has an incredible biking/walking trail system following the beautiful Deschutes river.
Good value for the price. Our room had been updated and was clean with a good bed. On par with a Holiday Inn Express or Hilton Garden Inn. Free Breakfast was nice and you can eat outside right by the river. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Great location, wonderful views of the Bridge

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, comfort.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved.
Location: Near the Oregon Dunes, and Heceta lighthouse and beach. Perfect location for strolling through the town, which has a brand new gallery/community space
We stayed in 2 rooms, one without and one with a view of the Bridge. that was fantastic; very picturesque and it was delightful to be able to see the water. Great sunsets from the balcony as well. The hotel is about 100 yards from a great local coffeeshop, which had much better coffee than the hotel. This was a quiet, clean, peaceful room and I'd definitely stay here again.

Tranquil setting overlooking the river

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Traveling from the Oregon coast and a long day of sightseeing, the Riverhouse was a welcome place to rest. Friendly desk clerk and easy check in. Our room was a quick drive across the river. The parking lot lighting was very dim (conservation), but once we were in the building, we easily found our lovely room. We were very pleased with the cozy room-- fireplace, lovely king bed, sleeper sofa, plenty of outlets for electronic devices, small balcony overlooking river. Very nice! In the morning, we enjoyed a large, complimentary buffet breakfast on the deck outside of the restaurant. We will stay at the Riverhouse when we visit Bend again.

Worth the stay

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Location: Smith rock state park - amazing! Loved it!
This hotel was a great surprise. The location is beautiful and the entire place looks wonderful and inviting. The restaurant is near the water and you can hear the water and imagine you're in the middle of fairytale... The room was comfortable. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was rich. Unfortunately we came only for one night and didn't have time to use the pool. They have both an inside and an outside one.

30th Anniversary

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Everything, really!
Cons: Nothing at this time. We did not have a single issue.
Location: We did not eat dinner there. My son had us reservations at Greg's Grill for our anniversary. What a great restaurant. WOW! Just go, get a window seat
We were in Bend for the first time. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we were visiting our son who is in Prineville. Booking was easy. Checking in was a snap. The grounds were clean. The room was as advertised except one thing. They didn't tell us that they had the best beds we were to have ever slept in at a Hotel. Our view of the river was great. Pet friendly as advertised. And the inclusive breakfast was great. We had it out on the deck by the river our second day and that was a great morning. The server staff were on top of it as were the Hotel staff. Otters in the river, Fly guys trying their luck on the river, people laughing, smiling, and the pets seemed happy too. We will be back this winter and will stay here. It was a great experience.
