Pros: The cleanliness and design of the hotel. Breakfast is the best of all the Bangalore hotels. The rooftop garden is nice.
Cons: The front desk staff. There is a difference between quality service and commission-based service.
Location: Many dining and shopping places nearby offering cheaper lunch and dinner options. Also money changers within walking distance.
We decided to book a room in this hotel using Expedia as it provides better deals than booking in person. While we were in the lobby booking a room online, one of the staff approached us and tried to persuade us not to book with Expedia. She said that she could provide a better rate but she showed us the price in Rupees, trying to confuse us with the online rate given in American Dollars. But we quickly calculated the rate she gave us and found out that Expedia still had a better rate so we went on with the online booking. Seeing this, she tried to dissuade us and asked whether we could cancel the booking after hitting the "submit" button. Our answer was "No." She seemed very unhappy with this and proceeded to walk back to the reception area and complained about Expedia to her colleagues. Nevertheless, we were given a room and couldn't been more happy with our choice. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing, with a lobby donned out in marble and the interiors were tastefully decorated. They managed to keep the walls and other surfaces of the hotel pristine white with regular paint jobs; even the room cupboards were scruff-free. The room might be a little small for some, but it was extremely clean and had a boutique feel. The quality and variety of the free breakfast was impressive. We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant, as it was extremely overpriced. The staff were quite insistent on us trying the buffet everytime we walked through the lobby. This was irritating.

Great Hotel, wonderful time, staff was very helpful, room was one of the best I have been in. Just down the street from the Hard Rock Café. Went for a stroll in the area with no problems what so ever, would go back in a heart beat

Pros: I rate the St. Marks hotel 5 because of the attentiveness, helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff and management.
Cons: The hotel is perfectly adequate as it is.
Location: It's located a short walk from Cubbon Park (and Louis Vuitton or Lamborghini show rooms). A 7* Marriot hotel close by serves an excellent buffet lunch
After a hair raising taxi ride from the airport in the most flexible car on earth that was able to squeeze into impossibly narrow gaps it was a relief to arrive at the St. Marks that is a sanctuary in the midst of Bengaluru's incomprehensible clamour of traffic. The hotel appears to have been carved out a solid block of Italian marble is therefore cool and clean and is a relief to arrive at after a walk down MG Road. The restaurant is not bad either with a varied tasty Indian menu. The breakfast is excellent as is the service. This is essentially a business hotel but suited us very well for the three days we were there. We didn't need a swimming pool or any other of the glitz available in other 4/5* tourist hotels.
