“good people , place needs work”

The service was good but the hotel is in need of upgrading. They are working on the roof but it may be a long time before they get the property in good shape. We went in the off season [in between the hot weather and the ski season]. The restaurants are excellent and the views are beautiful. I am sure the ski season will be great and the setting is excellent.

Stayed on the way to Mt Snow with my teenage daughter and her friend. Large room, very clean and comfortable. Our room had two Queen beds and a sofa bed, microwave and fridge. There was enough room for a family of six. Our stay also included a wonderful Continental breakfast , which included eggs, hot and cold cereals, waffles, fruit and pastries.

“Good place to stay on the way to Stratton”

We chose this hotel bacuse it was on the way to Stratton Mtn. for skiing. It was clean, had a nice bathroom and a continental breakfast.

“Centrally located”

Hotel was easy to find and close to where we needed to be. There were many eateries in the immediate area. Hotel was clean and presentable. Only con I have is that check in time was 3 pm - most hotels we have stayed in check in was 2 pm --the room was a good size and the beds comfortable. We were on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator - a little difficult for me to climb up and down since I have bad knees but I should have noted that in reserving the room. If we were to be in that area again I would probably stay there again.

“Not sure I would go there, due to Non-Smoking Rm confusion.”

Right next to a Shopper ? something (world?) and bowling alley. Sorta 'conveninent' and yet "crowded neighborhood" at the same time. The lack of a non-smoking room for each of 2 parties (me & my wife, plus my Sis-in-law with here own sister) made for awkwardness of who gets "non-smoking". Also, we were charged EXTRA taxes and surcharges, not too many dollars, above and beyond what I had booked on Expedia site -- I guess I didn't know that was even possible! No explanation was given by the clerk upon my checkout. I *Will* go to Bennington, VT, area, b ut I *WILL NOT* ever stay at this Best Western again, unless all other areas are Booked up, then I will reluctantly settle for it.

Although the location of the hotel was okay and that was the reason that we booked the reservation, we were nontheless disappointed with the accommodation. The hotel needs updates not only in decor, but in general maintenance - but we could have lived with that had there not been a musty/almost mildew smelling odor which pervaded the room and the bedding. We asked for a change of room but were told there were no others available when indeed the place did not seem full either when we returned from a late dinner or when we left very early the next morning. To be fair, maybe the other rooms were being renovated; that would be a nice possibility!

“Would go back!”

Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an economical, clean, well located facility. Our experience was very pleasant. We'd go back if we had the opportunity.

THe hotel was in good shape for a middle of the road hotel in a so-so location.
