A reasonable basic hotel

Posted Apr 15, 2015
The hotel was perfectly adequate for a single night stopover but was fairly basic. When we arrived the room smelled musty and was slightly dark. The hotel is some way out of town and the only evening food available within walking distance is a Pizza Hut or Dairy Bar. We opted to drive into the town where there is a much better range but not very convenient. We had a comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was included and was plentiful if a little basic.

Nice updates to an old standard.

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Pros: Great parking. Right next to the Price Chopper - 90 second walk, sushi, pizza, chicken dinner at the deli and bring it back to your room. Quiet.
Cons: Room had strong odor of cleaning product(s). BR fan and a window cleared that in < 10 minutes (YES - window that opens !!!!)
Location: Price Chopper, Dunkins, Pizza Hut, diner, Wallmart all w/in easy walk (but out of sight and sound). 2 min drive to movie, five minutes to brew pub.
Rooms updated with paint, TVs, coffee makers and linins. Bed firm, easy chair was old, but still comfortable. New breakfast room (smaller) Good coffee. Need to search for the cream (it's across the room and under the counter next to the waffle maker.

Close to Bennington College and the highway

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: I was visiting Bennington College and the motel was very convenient to that.
Overall, this motel is fine for a few-night stay. A strong point is a hot breakfast that is included in the room rate which includes juices, breads, pastries, scrambled eggs, hot sausage patties, and make-your-own waffles. The coffee is good too. My biggest gripe is that the halls are exterior, with no elevator for the second floor. If you are elderly or have problems carrying your own bags, be sure to ask for a ground-floor room. Exterior halls also can mean a louder noise level.

TV close captioning

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: It has recently been fixed up so in decent shape.
Cons: Price , priced like a 2 or 3 star property, when only rates 1 star
Location: Bucolic New England. The Clark is about 15 miles south in Williamstown Mass.
It took two days to turn on the close captioning ,a separate clicker was required.

I found this place by accident and we liked it so much we booked again for this year and we were very pleased again . We even met a newlywed couple half way through New York on a two week bike trip like us and they booked a room for the night and followed us all the way up there and they were also very pleased with the accommodations. If we do the same route again we definitely will stay there again.

Prett disgusting all around

Just a nasty place generally. Dark rooms with dirty looking carpet and bedspreads. the sort of place that makes you want to strip the bed to look for insects

Nice and clean

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: The people were courteous informative very helpful, the room was better than expected. Had everything we needed.
Cons: The only thing I thought could gave been better was the corridors a little dingy and the room numbers outside easier to follow.
Location: Great location, easy access Walmart behind the hotel.
I had read lots of reports on this hotel so was not expecting too much. I was surprised at how nice and clean the room was. Spacious had everything we needed internet was good, breakfast good. Well worth considering on your travels. It had a large pool area with tables sunbeds etc.

Plenty of room

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Central location, plenty of space and friendly people.
Cons: Decor, wireless internet and television systems need to be updated.
Location: This is Bennington, so skiing is king, but Bennington also has a variety of restaurants, shops and other activities. Bowling across the street.
Overall positive. The hotel is in a good location, easy to find. It is clean. The rooms are really large. The room we were in could potentially sleep six and still have room to move around. Staff is friendly. Beds are comfortable. Facilities are clean. Breakfast is typical. Hot items are scrambled eggs, sausage patties and make-your-own waffles. Still, there is plenty although the dining room is small. The negatives are really that the rooms are dated. You'll see this from decor in the pictures, but also in things like the television service which is about 20 channels. You have to call the office to request the free movie channels be turned on. Wireless is spotty.

Pros: Big room, convenient location. great breakfast
Cons: FIX YOUR INTERNET INFORMATION FOR CRYING OUT LOUD
Location: MUSEUM, SHOPS, COVERED BRIDGES CHURCH
on the internet we asked for PET FRIENDLY accommodations. Thought we were all set until check out when they said "we see you have a dog and this sign here on the desk says NO PETS, so there is a fine of $100.00." When we checked in they didn't ask how many adults or children and just said "Allen, yes here it is, you are all set, here is the key card" We t on lie to two different sites and asked for "Pet Friendly" and this place came up. DO NOT TRUST THIS PET FRIENDLY STUFF. I MADE THE CLERK GO ON THE WEB TO a couple of places to see for herself...she just kept referriong me to the sign on the end on the counter. After driving 350 miles with a dog and a three year old in the car I wasn't questioning the reservations made over the phone and admiring the décor of the office---We settled for a $25 charge for cleaning the room but BEWARE
