We stayed for one night on a trip through New England- the AC unit was so noisy that no one slept

Good Evening. Your comfort is of the utmost importance to us. I’m terribly sorry to hear that your air conditioner made it challenging for you to get the restful night's sleep you deserve. Next time you visit, feel free to contact guest services if you have any difficulties at all with your room and we will do anything we can to make your stay more enjoyable.

Beautiful hotel in the center of town.

The grounds are spectacular. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was large and very nice and clean. Great breakfast. Great location right in the center of town. I would definetly stay here again.

Do not stay! Can't believe this is a 5 star hotel.

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything
Pros: 1.) Great Old Historic Building on main street in town. Cons: 1.) Staff not trained to do basic hotel work - they don't have the tools. 2.) Check-in didn't get credit card info so when we were at golf club attached to hotel we were told we weren't staying there! 3.) Check-out was a huge screw up - we are traveling for months on holiday and so pay cash at check out so not to load up the credit cards. Although we we paid cash our stay was charged to us 3x and we had to fight with the hotel to get it back through our credit card company! 4.) Room Service - ordering room service for breakfast and five people - room service arrives with a stack of silver plates piled on a tray...no table. When we requested a table - all room service did was put the pile of plates on the table - no table cloth - no place settings - nothing! 5.) Dirty Rooms - We requested room to be cleaned due to a 10 month old baby on the carpet - the vacum had missed most corners and it looked like a hit and run. We accidentally broke a water glass and asked for it to be cleaned up only to come back to the room to fine it still there. 6.) Ironing board is made for minions - only two feet off ground. 7. ) The bathroom was small and dark. Wasted space. 8.) Continental breakfast is a sad fruit plate and donuts my kids won't even eat. Six plates were dirty -fish was old cheese was old. Forced to use Tavern instead of Colonnade restaurant because of a company function. 9.) Pool open NOT early enough

Upscale facilities

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Very clean and private.
My girlfriend and I spent an overnight at the Equinox and it was a very pleasant stay. Although we did not utilize all of the services the facility was extremely nice. We will be returning next year for a second visit and hopefully we will have more time to enjoy the good surroundings and hotel amenities.

Great experience.

Room ventilation fan (room 316) was way to loud considering the cost and reputation of the Equinox. There was nothing in the sink area on which to hang hand towels.

beautiful mountain resort

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Had an upscale, luxurious feel that felt like a special treat.
Cons: need more people at the front desk
Location: Hildene excellent Valet staff friendly and gave good suggestion to eat lunch at Spiral Press and it was delicious from the sandwiches to icecream
The room was huge and room and bathroom felt updated, clean and modern. Could sometimes hear footsteps above so would ask next time to be on top floor. Could hear doors closing in hallway. Wish we had more time to enjoy everything resort has to offer. The gym was good and lovely fire pit out on a beautiful deck.

Older hotel with a Gorgeous setting

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Service, location, food was first class. Lots of things included, like bottled water. They really make you feel like a valued guest.
Cons: Like I said, the rooms transmitted a lot of noise. I'm not sure how fixable that really is.
Location: Beautiful Village, lots of high-end outlet stores, golf, tennis, off-road trails, spa, restaurants.
Second stay for us. First was in the winter. This time was spring. Weather was gorgeous, service was wonderful, spa was delightful. We will almost certainly be back. Only a few hiccups - 1 was not being able to find our dinner reservation right away. We had made it the same day and it was rectified within 3 minutes and no fuss. The second was that there was a wedding going in and they were up late.... It's an old hotel and doesn't have the best soundproofing. Finally, which was a little more distracting, was that our bill had 5 different charges that weren't ours. My wife checked us out and I didn't even look at the bill until the next day, when it was emailed to us. 2 were restaurant charges, one was bar charge and two were banquet charges. I called and when I got a call back, I was asked who the other guests were that were staying with us. It was just my wife and I, but he said that the reservation had 3 other guests listed without names. We made the reservation through Expedia, so I'm not sure where the blip occurred or what that would have to do with the food and banquet charges, but it came to I think around $350? Anyway, all resolved, or should be in 7-10 days... Just have to watch my credit card statement.
