Qurky Getaway in ManchesterPosted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
I loved the Wilburton Inn. It's definitely quirky, but in a good way. The owners and staff were really nice and helpful. Dinner was great. I would love to stay there again. I'm sure I'll be there again.

An autumn delightPosted Oct 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed one night at this wonderful old mansion and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room in the main building was beautifully decorated in Victorian style, but had all the modern amenities, inlcuding flat screen TV and a modern bathroom. The owner was gracious and very helpful in suggesting restaurants in the area. Breakfast was very good, with a variety of artisan breads - the walnut raisin bread was delicious. We had our choice of eggs, and my request for an egg white omlet was easily accomodated. Location - a beautiful view from the dining room of the Battenkill valley, lovely grounds for taking a walk, very convenient to the village of Manchester.

We expected to staying in a hotel not a cabin with 4 rooms. I would not book this hotel again without knowing the specific room. I would not recommend the hotel because of our room situation.

Won me over with watermelon.Posted Sep 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
I can appreciate eccentricity of this BNB but when first arriving it felt unwelcoming and a little creepy. However, the housekeeper brought me a plate of fruit and a carafe of water upon checking into my room. I was very thankful of this gesture and it was just what I needed after two flights and three hour drive to get there. If you are expecting a chain hotel don't stay here. If you enjoy history, European travel and don't mind a water bug greeting you in the morning shower, you will fit in here.

Appealing and also puzzlingPosted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
On almost all points that really matter, the Wilburton rates a 5-out-of-5. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our suite was spacious, very clean, and very comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. The Inn is a couple of miles outside the center of Manchester, on a beautiful and quiet country road that is lined with mansions. The Inn has a small pool which is very clean, centrally located, and surrounded by chairs and lounges, with a changing area and clean towels. There are some amazing and intriguing sculptures scattered about the property, part of the "Museum of the Creative Process" which is operated out of the Inn. The views are fantastic. Unfortunately, breakfast on two of the three days was totally disorganized. The first morning it seemed as though nobody quite knew what they were doing. Breakfast items were brought out late and somewhat haphazardly, and it wasn't clear who was in charge, who was taking orders, etc. The second morning was completely different; there was order, service, and everything seemed normal, like you would expect. On the third morning, once again, everything disorganized, different staff, confusion. This left enough of a negative impression that we would hesitate before rebooking.

I was at this hotel with my 2 dogs so it limited my choice of accommodations here to a room in one if the out buildings. The pet friendly room was quite comfortable & convenient with my dogs; however, the carpet was stained. The grounds are beautiful with many artistic touches throughout. Breakfast each morning was a delight! The staff were all extremely friendly.

Country Inn One of the BestPosted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: See above.
Cons: Nothing, even the weather was perfect.
Location: Manchester shopping, many restaurants, Mt Equinox, antique shops, Hildene.
The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained and vast. Sculptures scattered over the grounds add to the magic. The views are spectacular. The staff is gracious and helpful. Breakfast (included) and dinner (not included) were delicious and served in beautiful surroundings. Rooms were well maintained traditional style with very comfortable beds and modern TV. The pool is large and the water crystal clear. Nice music played in the public rooms. I look forward to returning next year!

Lots of character not found in top hotel chainsPosted May 22, 2013
Pros: They served fresh out of the oven homemade bread with breakfast. The service was friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful and beds were comforta
The mansion has lots of antiques and each room has its own unique look. It is like going back in time to times of Victorian elegance. The views from the hotel are fantastic. Incredible Green Mountain vistas. The owner must be an art collector and has a very eclectic taste. There are interesting features throughout the grounds.

Casual Comfort in a Classic Vermont SettingPosted Sep 8, 2012
Pros: The friendliness of the staff, from the owners to the breakfast waiter....All were wonderful!!
Location: Located just outside Manchester, Vermont on a hill overlooking one of the region's scenic valleys with a magnificent view of the Green Mountains.....
From the moment we entered the Wilburton Inn we were struck with the overall friendliness of the staff. They did everything they could to make our stay most memorable. The breakfasts each day were varied and delicious with plenty of choices. Looking out the window from our Victorian room we were treated to a splendid view of the majestic Green Mountains. The surrounding grounds were meticulously kept and I would recommend this establishment to any and all who wish to vist this beautiful Manchester region of Vermont!
