Great location on campus close to Dickson Street

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Character of the architecture was very nice. The amenities were also nice but just not available at the times necessary.
Cons: Food and amenity availability. Please stay open if just to come down and watch TV of meet with others late.
Location: University and walking distance to the main drag.
We arrived late in the afternoon the day before new years' eve. Since the University was out of school the entire campus was desolate. The staff was scarce but friendly. The rooms were very nice, the beds a bit uncomfortable. Not certain why. The lounge opened around 6 p.m. and closed early around 9:00 p.m. Would have liked it to stay open since it was cold outside and came back to the hotel around 9:15 from dinner. The restaurant service was excellent but the food experience was not good and quite expensive. The bacon was burnt and crispy for breakfast. We had reservations for New Years' eve, the food again was good but expensive. There was much more activity within the hotel. The bar actually closed at 12 midnight if not earlier, which surprised us. The next morning breakfast was about the same, but the staff was sparse and this time the biscuit was almost burned.

Pros: We loved that we could walk anywhere on campus and not have to worry about parking our car. The room was nice and very quiet.
Location: It is really close to restaurants.
The hotel was very nice and in a great location. We could walk to everything on the University of Arkansas campus. It was a short drive to the restaurants, shops, etc. located on Dickson St. and the town square.

Visit to Univ. of Arkansas

Posted Nov 25, 2013
We had a big, sunny room that was neat and clean as could be. Public areas were filled with old pictures and artifacts of university. Staff could not have been more pleasant. Breakfast food was high quality and waitress very nice. My business was at the university and weather was cold, so I really appreciated location on the edge of campus.

Great Hotel Located On UofA Campus.

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Built in 1905 or 1906 and wonderfully restored.
Located on the corner of UofA campus allows easy access to campus, football/basketball games, and Dixon Street which has many shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Room was very clean. Lounge was nice with large overstuffed leather couches and strong drinks. Great veranda available for meals or drinks. Next time we are in NW AR, will definetely stay here again.

Great getaway

Cons: noise levels in the hallway echo, due to the nature of the construction
Location: it is right no campus, and in the center of Fayetteville downtown activities. can't beat it.
It is one of only 3 Historic Hotels of America in Arkansas, and it is a great palce to stay.
