The hotel is located very close to the station. It's about five minutes walk. The neighbourhood is like most neighboorhouds around stations: not the most happening or liviliest part of town and a bit run down. However Bergamo is not a big city and it does not feel unsafe. Location is very handy if you come by train or bus. It is a bit farther from the old town although the distance to the centre and the funiculaire is walkable. The room we stayed in was very clean and large. The bathroom especially was very big for a hotel bathroom which was great. Wifi is free and was working very well. Breakfast is in the form of a buffet on the topfloor of the hotel. It was a typical contintal breakfast and included croissants, cereals, cake, coffee and juice.

San Giorgio - cheap hotel in BergamoPosted Oct 25, 2011 on Hotels.com
Only 10 mins walk from train station, 10 mins from restaurants and shops and 30 min walk from funicular for Upper Town, breakfast good, room comfortable, good bed & shower, we had a handy terrace too. However, room decor a bit dated, although the foyer was OK.Staff were pleasant and spoke English. Be aware the desk is not manned 24 hours, no entry 2am-7am.
