Very CLEAN and comfortable accomadations

Posted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: see above
Cons: the computer in the lobby was the only thing that gave us trouble. the staff tried several times to make it work in English but only the manager had
Location: very convenient to all the harbor, fish market, old town, shopping and historical sights in the downtown area. Everything within walking distyance.
Arrived early but the hotel staff had our rooms available to freshen up and unpack our luggage before we went out on walk thru fish market and old towm. Rooms were the cleanest of any we,ve stayed at in Europe and the bathrooms were well designed with shower that was a pleasure to use without getting surrounding floors wet as in some of the pricer hotels we stayed at that had 1/2 wide glass doors or tubs with half wide shower curtains. The breakfast was very adequate although not as extensive as at some other hotels but the food was very tasty. We ate lunch there the second day and the food was typical homestyle Norwegian fare that was very modestly priced. The best part of the stay however was the exceptional hotel staff that went out of their way to make our stay in Bergen the most enjoyable of our trip

value for money, no frills lodging

Posted Jun 8, 2013
Pros: location
Cons: no shower curtain
Location: central
Tiny bedroom (like a small cabin on a boat) and no shower curtain which I find so primitive but which is "usual" in Scandanavia. Convenient location for the centre of town and good value for money, no frills lodging.

Very small single room but generally fine.

Posted Mar 3, 2013
Single room was very small. Narrow bed against the wall as a result. Difficult to comfortably watch tv. This was the main issue but everything else was perfectly fine. Good location, well kept hotel, helpful staff.

Some improvements to be done

Posted Feb 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a lower priced, traditional hotel in Bergen. Single rooms windows are not soundproof. Wireless internet should be improved. Breakfast is ok, but other hotels have best quality by Norwegian standards.

Great basic hotel

This is a well-maintained, basic hotel, in a great location. I would recommend it if you are after something simple, close to everything.

Good basic Hotel

Posted Aug 9, 2012
Pros: The room
Cons: The restaurant
Location: Centrally placed
We had a superior room which was large, clean and bright. The room was at the front of the hotel and was a bit noisy at night due to traffic, particularly if you want a window open. The buffet breakfast was good and most days there was plenty of room to sit. The restaurant was disappointing as it closed at 7:00 pm every night and therefore can't comment on the food as we never ate there. The hotel is centrally placed and is within 5 min walk from the fish market. The hotel WiFi is expensive like everything in Norway. Overall a good, clean hotel with helpful and polite staff. Would stay again. Don't use a taxi from the airport, use the airport mini bus at half the price!!
