Bergen is a beautiful city! So many things to do and the hotel is perfectly situated.

Ideal central locationPosted Aug 5, 2014
Cons: The bathroom was small - I would have preferred a shower screen rather than a shower curtain that kept wrapping itself around me.
Location: Close to the Fishmarket and the Bryggen. A very short walk to the Funicular and art galleries and also close to the railway and bus stations
The hotel was in a great central location - everything seemed to be close by and the views of the harbour and up the hill to the funicular were great in all weathers. The room was small and basic but very comfortable. The noise from outside was quite loud in the evening - music presumably from the nightclub late at night and then the early morning roadsweepers. Free tea and coffee in the dining room was much appreciated as we had frequent breaks between wandering about Bergen. Would definitely recommend to friends, along with earplugs!

Ideal for access to all major facilitiesPosted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast extensive. They had a good range of food and drink, plus essentials for the traveller on sale.
Cons: They should complain about the noise from the night-club because it will effect custom.
Location: The fish market is directly in front of the hotel. Go to Bryggen, a nice old area just across the bay. Book a fjord sight seeing tour.
This hotel was ideal as the airport coach drops you off about 50 metres away. It is also directly behind the tourist information office and close to all major amenities. The hotel itself was clean and friendly. The breakfast menu extensive. The only drawback was that at night, the noise from the nightclub opposite kept us awake into the early hours of the morning. Traffic noise was also a problem. There was also a terrible stench outside of the hotel in the mornings which permeated through to the front lounge area.

Beautiful home for a Bergen visitPosted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Views, location, staff
Cons: Refrigerator that works and has enough space for leftovers and a few things would be nice.
Bergen is beautiful and the Scandic Strand is in the midst of it. Greatest location. The fish market smells a bit at night, but that is because it is just across the street! The room was very small. The refrigerator did not work well. The views, location, and staff more than make up for any flaws. A great price was found, too!

Good hotelPosted Jun 10, 2014
Cons: WiFI connection
Nice breakfast, excellent location, friendly staff. There are huge difference of views from guestrooms. Harbour view room has impressive view, while courtyard view room has a poor view. Hotel person says that customers booking the hotel through Expedia would basically be allocated to the courtyard view. Free WiFi access, but the connection is very poor.

Hotel with Gluten Free BreakfastPosted May 31, 2014
Pros: Free Wifi and it's location by the fish market.
Cons: The broken chair in the room we had.
This hotel provides an excellent breakfast buffet with many gluten free food options.

Perfect stayPosted May 23, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was the best. The staff were all smiles and helpful. Comfortable beds. Great location.
Cons: Wider beds air con
Location: Everything on your doorstep. Museums, fishmarket, funicular for great views and walks, many good restaurants, the harbour for tours and shops.
Great location next to the fishmarket and tourist info offices.could be noisey at the front but with the window shut quiet.the view from the front is well worth it.get a high floor.the staff we spoke to were all very helpful and polite.always with smiles on their faces. the bedroom was a good size, well decorated, very modern tv, comfortable chairs.the beds were comfortable but were very narrow.the room was hot so window open noise or shut and hot. the bathroom was good size with quality shower gel and shampoo.the floor tiles appeared heated so no cold feet.the shower was good and easy to use. breakfast was fantastic.everything you would want and more.various cold meats and cheeses, cerels, juices, coffee and all types of teas and fruit teas.hot buffet with bacon, beans, pots, scrambled and fried eggs.choice of breads and rolls.there was salmon also.but the best was peanut butter. with only real negative being hot rooms and narrow beds the rest outways those and you should not be in your room for long.get out and see a wonderful expensive city.

Good locationPosted May 15, 2014
Cons: Service, cleanliness
Location: Walk the historic township. Plenty of restaurants. Close to activities, Mount Ulriken Cable Car and the Funicula train.
Good location by Fishermans Wharf, in centre of town. Room small, tidy and comfortable. Let down by cleanliness. Bathrooms not cleaned properly each day. Hair in sink. On the last day, the room was not cleaned at all. The Management were notified but nothing was done. Staff not interested in asking about your stay and if you enjoyed it.

Excellent location by the harbourPosted Apr 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great location for a business meeting - Airport Bus drop-off and pick-up within a few paces walk. Good quiet area on 2nd floor for holding informal meetings (until the bar opened). Would be ideal location for holiday stay.

Convenient location, but way over pricedPosted Apr 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is centrally located in Bergen. Easy to walk to many locations. The lobby is nice. The room was very small, the single bed was about the size of a cot (3ft/1m wide). The view from the room was nice, but the room was very old, and had very poor insulation. A previous review I had read mentioned that you could hear all the street noise. They were absolutely correct. Fortunately I had some earplugs with me. I would compare this to a rundown Motel 6.
