Great place to stay, convienent to airport

Good location in pretty village about 1.5 miles from airport and 8 miles from Bergen from the nearby bus terminus (through lovely scenery). New, modern, clean and comfortable. Polite and smart staff, good breakfast buffet and pleasant surroundings. One small comment: the back of the hotel faces the road from the airport, and if you go the wrong way down the road, as I did (at midnight and tired), it takes a long time to find the main entrance, as it is not well-signposted and it is not clear that you should go down the road towards the commercial area along the other main road.

This hotel was fine for our needs. We were there for but a brief time (in late/out early to get to the airport for a return home flight). I was disappointed that there was no transport to the airport other than taxi. Had we had a little more time and had we known the logistics a little better, we would have chosen to stay at a hotel in Bergen and then taken the FlyBuss to the airport that is very reliable and inexpensive. That way we could have enjoyed Bergen. The Rainow Hotel Bergen Airport is really in the middle of nowhere and was crowded with large tour groups.

The hotel is an airport hotel with short connection for late arrivcals. Quiet and good night meals.

As basic as they come! never surprised to see the restaurant empty the menu has very few items on and in the 6 years i have stayed here its only ever the burger i go for due to lack of excitement in the variety of choice. People obviously speak with their feet and go elsewhere.

No Aircon and very basic rooms awaits your arrival. Old style CRT tv's find it hard to get a clear picture and very limited tv channels. the beds are uncomfortable (normally two singles pushed together) and the quilt is much smaller than the bed! Everything seems very tired in the room with marks on walls and the odd broken item. I had what is described as a superior room..... i think that just meant it had a flushing loo and running water as there was nothing superior about it at all! the restraunt is a waste of time doing only a very limited main course choice of 3 items and a "special" so basically its burger and fries and thats it. This has been like this for over the 6 years with no effort put in by the staff or by the hotel in creating a half decent menu and trying to get people to eat there. if you want plus points, its 5 mins from the airport and as long as you dont mind basic, can live with the beds and TV, can survive a room temp of greater than 20 degrees, are not hungry for your stay, and do not need to remove creases from your clothes with the poor little iron provided then this is a GREAT hotel. It is what it is and for all of its faults its always my first choice when everything else in Bergen is booked! And for those traveling with hand luggage only its worth noting that there is a big bottle of shampoo and shower gel so no need to mess round with 50ml bottles yourself!
