“Decent hotel in the middle of Bergen”

Great location with outstanding breakfast. Rooms are small but clean.

“Good practical choice”

Overall we were happy with the hotel. Even though our room was not supposed to have a view, but we could see a sliver of the harbor and the Bryggen if we stretch our necks. There is a road construction near the hotel, so the taxi we took to and from the ferry terminal had to make a big detour.

“Older hotel with great location”

This is an older hotel, and no two rooms are alike, as far as I could tell. You get the charm of an older hotel, but with that comes things like retrofitted fire sprinklers with exposed pipes. The location is fantastic, and we had a view of the harbor from our room. The morning we had breakfast, it was quite chaotic. It was hard to find things, like butter, because the staff couldn't keep up with replenishing items fast enough. There were great view tables in the restaurant, but they were all occupied. Every table featured an advertisement about the hotel's breakfast, with pictures of fresh strawberries and blueberries, but when I asked the staff for the fresh berries depicted in the photos, they said they had none...only jams.

“Excellent staff and location”

Great location if you are visiting the old town area. Staff friendly and helpful. I staye don two separate nights during a recent trip. The first visit I stayed in one of the remodeled rooms the second visit in a room that had not yet been remodeled. I found both to be clean and comfortable with all you need. Rooms small but if you get a harbor view fabulous. I would stay again.

“Okay. Very average but expensive.”

I very much enjoyed my trip to Bergen but the hotel was not a highlight. Mediocre. For persepctive, everything in Norway is pretty much 2-4 X the cost in the US. This hotel cost 3X the cost for a same type of room and hotel in the US. I specifically had asked ahead of time for a room that was quiet and not near fans (loud fan systems are everywhere in Norway and Norwegians seem deaf to their presence) and I got a room which was near fans, one floor down from the roof top fan system (i.e. not possible to sleep with window open, and i.e. hotel not able to follow directions). The tile grout in the bathroom was not clean. The pillow case had a rip. The staff was courteous and friendly but sent me through an unnecessary round about Expedia hotel payment already made. The room was pleasant but nothing special. The location was very good and made exloring the city very accessible.

“This is a 2 star Hotel”

The rooms were stark and looked like prison cells. My non smoking room smelled like someone had been smoking in it for years.

“Not the best experience”

Both the room and bathroom were in poor condition and the beds were very uncomfortable. The overall room its self was claustrophobic. The staff was great. Very freindly and helpful, they were the best part of this hotel!
