Excellent value in Solingen
The hotel has changed ownership since the last visit, but still as clean and welcoming as previous trips. Sanitary protocols are well observed, the breakfast offered was very nice, and the beds are (still) very firm. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Pleasant hotel within easy reach of town centre.
Very straightforward booking in by pleasant staff. Comfortable, clean and quiet room with gratis refreshment. The place was clean throughout with good bar facilities. Excellent selection of quality breakfast food offered in very pleasant breakfast room. A super place to stay.

Staff will take care of you.
Very helpful staff. Food was solid. No A/C which meant opening the window, which meant a lot of street noise. Not much to do about that. Fridge is a nice touch.

Great breakfast
Room was comfortable & clean. Breakfast included with a large variety of items- meats & cheeses, lox, rollmops(herring), breads & rolls as well as yogurts, sliced fresh fruit, cereals and hot eggs, bacon as well as carafes of hot coffee. Free parking and hotel is located on outskirts of city in a quiet section. We were fortunate that the staff at the desk spoke English and were able to help with directions to restaurants and tourist sights. There is a wurstof knives factory outlet a couple of blocks away with prices at least 50% off.

reasonable hotel. overpriced but they all are around Medica trade fair. Hotel staff very welcoming, always saying good morning or evening. room very basic. pillows were the worst, almost empty. small tip get extra pillow and stuff both inside 1 x pillowcase and tie a knot. that worked!!

No frills efficiency hotel close to everything
The daily complimentary breakfast was exceptional. Otherwise this hotel is very simple, with no frills, and rough linens and towels. We would have enjoyed even a small fitness center, but nothing is onsite. However within 5 minutes walking distance is a mall, many shops and cafes, and a few dining restaurants. I'd stay here again if I had business in Solingen.

Good hotel for a reasonable price
We enjoyed our one night at this hotel. We did have some trouble finding it both because there was no street address on our confirmation and because the hotel name is in the process of changing. However the staff was friendly and helpful. We were a bit surprised at the price of 15 Euros per person for breakfast and didn't eat there. There was plenty if free parking, and the WiFi was adequate.

Bonne Halte à Solingen
Excellente halte, à quelques kilomètres de Cologne qui était notre objectif. Cependant, nous avons découvert Solingen, dont nous ne connaissions que l'acier, et avons vu la vieille ville et ... visité l'usine Haribo! L'hotel est très confortable, calme pour une bonne nuit de repos au cours d'un long voyage.

Wenig Positives
Erster Eindruck von außen: Abgeliebt und wenig gepflegt, das Innere etwas in die Kahre gekommen aber wenigstens sauber. Zimmer durchschnittlich und völlig überheizt, der versprochene große TV ist auf älteres Kleingerät geschrumpft. Die Nachtruhe wurde durch Nachbarn und Barbesucher unangenehm gestört. Überhaupt: Interesse an Barbesuch oder Verweilen im Foyer wurde durch das penetrante Abspielen von Weihnachtsmusik verhindert, wenn ich sowas hören will gehe ich in den Kaufhof.

Leider haben wir zwei einzelbetten statt 1 doppelbettes erhalten. Das zimmer stank nach kaltem Zigarettenrauch und die Einrichtung an sich war ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen, der Teppich sehr unansehnlich.
