Near Hauptbahnhof and Schwebebahn
Posted Jan 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
Convenient near the main train station and Schwebebahn, but noisy with open window. The first room we got was about a two star, smelled of stale smoke (even though rated as non-smoking). We were able to change to another room, this one perfect and corresponding to advertised 4-star rating. Breakfast buffet was great, much variety. The free transit pass is a great bonus.

Everything that was advertised and that I expected was delivered. No complaints. Right in the middle of the city.

convenient hotel for business travellers & tourist
Posted Jan 31, 2012 on Hotels.com
clean hotel in convenient location close to Wuppertal Railway Station. Staff friendly and professional. on the downside, this hotel needs some updating, particularly the bathroom facilities. The breakfast is great and the public transport ticket you receive on arrival is definitely a plus. I can recommend this hotel for business travellers as well as tourists.

Excellent business travel hotel
Posted Jan 25, 2011
We were visiting Wuppertal on business, and then as a getaway to a short driving vacation. The hotel was very convenient to the train station, where we arrived - except that one needs to know to exit the train station by its front gates (going up the escalator on the right as you come out of the platforms onto the central walkway) not via the city centre. The room, although typical in size for many European hotels, was comfortable. The hotel breakfast, included in the rates, was excellent - and a high point of the day before setting out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Recommended for travel that takes you to this area of Germany.

No way is four stars

Great location - near the railway station and the city centre. This is why I'd recommend it to others, if they aren't fussy about the hotel's condition. Our room was long overdue for re-painting. The carpets and furniture are old and stained. Our telephone stopped working on our second day but was never fixed. On the positive - the rates were good and the hotel gives passes for public transport.

Comfortable "Business hotel" with a view of the Schwebebahn
Posted Jan 29, 2010
We stayed 2 nights at the InterCityHotel Wuppertal and we enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable on the 5th floor that overlooked the Schwebebahn. Although I had read that Business rooms were on the quiet side of the hotel, I really liked our view of the Schwebebahn. We had free wi-fi available to us, which I used on my cell phone. A code is required for the wi-fi access; ask for it at check in. There is a computer in the lobby that is NOT connected to a printer. If you need to have a boarding pass printed for a European flight, email your boarding pass to the front desk and ask them to print it for you. (We did this for an Air Berlin flight from Dusseldorf to Vienna.) The breakfast buffet was excellent with many items to choose from including eggs, bacon, cheeses, cereals, and breads. I recall that they even had several types of honey and several types of fruit preserves.

Hotel is fairly old. Well maintained. About 200 yards from main Railway staion in Elberfeldt, very close to city center. Convenient parking if you drive. Free WiFi. Free English and German newspapers. Good breakfast. Bar open till about midnight. Restauarant tarditional German, a little expensive. Plenty of other places to eat nearby. Ferindly helpful service. All staff seem to speak Englsih well.

Great & not too expensive

Hotel & staff were excellent, we had a van that was oversized & didn't fit into the main entrance (which was a nuisance as you have to check in at the top of a hill then drive down to enter the drive of the parking) so they let us enter each time thru the exit which had outdoor parking. Lots of shops & restaurants nearby. The rooms were very small but well kept & clean. I would return if coming back to Wuppertal.
