“2 extremes ....................”
My Wife and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 1 night during Dec '09. The check-in was excellent. The Receptionist explained everything to us very well and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him. We were both extremely tired after a long haul flight and we were pleasantly surprised when he explained our room was ready to occupy early in the morning. The room itself was very nice, both clean and spacious. We can't comment on what dinner was like in the restaurant as we didn't make use of it.
All of that said, there is sadly a downside. The breakfast was quite frankly awful. There was nobody behind the breakfast bar to take orders for eggs etc. What was available looked as though it had been there for sometime. I say what was available because, I have my doubts if anyone was checking to see what needed topping up. My wife finally found a waitress, who appeared to be wishing she was somewhere else, and ordered a fried egg. When the egg did arrive, by which time the other food on the plate had cooled, the white was runny. After what appeared to be an eternity, we managed to grab the attention of the disinterested waitress to explain about the egg. It was taken away and brought back and looked like the original egg which had been thrown back into the frying pan for an extra 2 minutes.
I do recommend staying here, as we both had a very relaxing time at the hotel, but would suggest you find somewhere else to eat, as it was the breakfast that badly let this lovely hotel down.
