The overall condition of the hotel is tired Resteraunt service was bad with a 40 minute wait between starter and the main course that was dry and tepid and certainly not value for money Was not offered a sweet menu and there was no dialogue at all durring the entire meal Bar staff were pleasant as was reception

A very good hotel for a short break.Posted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: The staff were very helpful and obliging nothing was a trouble to them.
Location: Well positioned for the town centre a short walk to all amenities that you require.
Check in was a breeze,no problems at all,we asked to see our room prior to payment which was no problem,we were shown to room no. 3 which was very clean with a outdoor balcony with a table and two chairs, the ability to open the doors to allow any cool breeze to circulate as the weather was very warm and humid was excellent. Breakfast was very good, there was a variety of cooked items and of good quality, the staff were friendly and very efficient we would stay here again without hesitation.

Nice, cheap hotel for overnight stayPosted Jul 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was in town for a wedding and got an affordable, clean and comfortable room for a few hours sleep. Service was good and it was a short walk to town and the station.

1st class servicePosted Jun 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
we were met at reception by a very warm welcome,we felt nothing would have been too much to ask for.The only criticism is the double bed was small our feet hung out of the bottom!! The breakfast was very organized and cooked to your preference. We would stay again.

Helpful , friendly staffPosted Dec 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay at the Alva Lodge. The room was very nice which had a balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the lady in charge of breakfast who helped us with road directions and the lady behind the bar went out of her way to bring us food and drinks into the lounge despite having a full bar. The food was very good, cooked by the hotel owner himself who always made sure everyone was happy with their meal.

Simple but exactly what I neededPosted Oct 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
The room was fine, the bed was comfy and there was a TV - what more could I want for a single night stay. The main attraction of this hotel was the fact that you could check in until 5:30AM, and being in town for a wedding, I had no idea when I would get there. When I did arrive (just after midnight) the receptionist/duty manager was very nice, and I had everything I needed. The only downs I would note is that the shower was actually in the bedroom, and the toiletries were a bit sparse. It could do with a bit of money spent on the decor but I would definitely stay there again.

In need of love & attentionPosted Oct 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
Really handy for Maidenhead, but really needs some money spending on it. The food was great, I've never had portions that size!! The breaded mushrooms starter was three meals on it's own!! Why not cut the portions and use the money they save to re-decorate the rooms?
