“Good location for Reading festival”

If you don't want to slum it in tents then the Novotel is a good find; it is about 15 minutes walk from the festival and is very comfortable.

“Novotel - a pleasant surprise”

We don't normally like modern, preferring country house hotel personally so it was with some trepidation that we booked the novotel based on proce and central location. We were actually very pleasantly surprised, whilst very modern we liked the place. It had a good homely feel about it. Very bright,clean and comfortable. Service was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The Manager should be very pleased with his reception staff - they were great at check in and check-out, especially Precious. Definatley reccomend if you are in Reading on business or pleasure. We didnot get to use the pool and gym - next time we'll bring our kit and enjoy a swim on Sumday before we leave. Parking,pubs, shops and restaurants all on the doorstop. Everything you need...

“Very good would stay there again”

Location very good. Small car park which we couldn't park in but NCP with discount close by. Only negative would be the pillows which were very small and square. Another time I'd ask for normal pillows. Breakfast really good. Overall a good stay.

“Show Door”

The hotel and room was fine except for the shower door. They put the shower door on the wrong side going inwards, making it extremely difficult to get in or get out of the shower.

“Nice hotel”

The hotel and staff were very nice and the location was great for bars, my only not so positive comments.... there were children running around/ screaming at bar (we stayed on NYE) and met friends in the hotel for pre-evening drinks and had to listen to nosy kids and cartoon's on TV, not really what you'd expect @ 8/ 9pm on NYE? Also we could of done with additional pillows. Neither of which would put us of re-visiting though.

“Very good - simple but nice”

Hotel is in the middle of centre of town - which can get very rowdy with drinkers at the weekends but hotel doesn't seem to get any of the noise. Hotel is simple but clean and staff are very friendly. Only gripe is that it is rather hot in the hotel - we had the AC running at its lowest temp all night long in September! Definitely would stay here again.

“The Novotel Frier Street Reading”

Very friendly & helpful staff, very clean, freash & smart hotel...not sure how old it is but it seems very new.
