Central location, quality hotel

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Location and service
Cons: Nothing
Location: Close to everything for a great day of shopping, drinking and eating.
Stayed for a short break and was very satisfied. The hotel is central to all the city amenities e.g. shops, pubs, restaurants, etc. Check in was quick and easy with professional and friendly staff. You need a key card to access the lifts, so the rooms are secure from non-hotel residents. Room was clean and well laid out. Bath and shower separate, so two people can use the facilities. Free wifi, the bar was not expensive and was comfortable. Definitely will be staying again.

Hotel in the heart of the city

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Nice and quiet swimming pool and good buffet breakfast.
Cons: The room was really hot and the hotel staff could only give us a small table fan which just blows hot air around the room.
Location: Location is great if you like to be in the midst of the hustle and bustle - which is what i wanted anyway.
I wanted a hotel right at the heart of Reading city centre, but with all the comforts for a small family. The short break was for me and my wife, with our two sons aged 7 and 9. The room was really hot and the hotel staff could only give us a small table fan which just blows hot air around the room. To say the least, we were NOT comfortable in the room at all as it was a particularly hot weekend. They said the aircon ought to work but it wasn't and they didn't seem to have the sense to offer us another room which was a disappointment. The kids were really excited when they saw the xbox in the lobby but disappointment quickly set in when they realised it only had two 'boring' games installed.

When in Reading stay here

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Clean, still new, good lay out not far at all from the Riverside, so quite central. Quiet as well.
Location: Ideal for Legoland and if you're happy to go further Windsor
Enjoyable experience. Twin superior double suited my daughter and I & baby Leo!

lovely Hotel in the centre of Reading

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: location to the town of Reading. Comfortable room and bed. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Amazing breakfast.
Location: Its basically right in the centre of Reading so everything is at your fingertips. Shops, eateries, bars, nightclubs, cinema and the Thames River.
Very close to Reading station which is great. Nice, tidy and airy as you walk in. The staff were friendly and made sure I could use my swipe card in the lift. The room was clean and bright and airy. Staff were helpful when I needed directions into town. loved the location. I will definitely stay here again and have recommended it to my family and friends.

Central city hotel

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Location and breakfast.
Cons: Air conditioning and Parking costs.
Location: Central Reading. excellent for shops, travel and entertainment.
Fairly nice hotel, but spoilt by excessive heat in bedroom and expensive car parking. However, very good for rail travelers and express coach from Heathrow. Some materials on sofa etc showing damage. Air conditioning ineffective. Vrry noisy if windows open.

Surprisingly nice for a Novotel. Nothing fancy, but met my expectations. The breakfast buffet was pretty well stocked as well, so definitely get that package if available.

Typical novotel

Every time I book this hotel group I ask for a double bed plus sofa bed (which they advertise ) and never ever get one - I have got fed up of being fobbed off when I ask reception to resolve so I guess I must find some other hotel group

Easy walking distance from Reading Station

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Receptionist staff who showed exceptional customer care.
Cons: Cheaper breakfast rates. £16.95 seemed very expensive for breakfast
Location: Great central location. Easy walking distance to shops and station. Nandos next door, Sainsburys 50 metres away and McDonalds over the road.
Clean, functional hotel with exceptional receptionist staff who were incredibly helpful. The hotel is on one of the busiest roads in Reading town centre and can get quite noisy ( we stayed on a Saturday night whilst visiting Reading for a 50th birthday party) so ask for a room at the back of the hotel away from the main street. Beds were very comfortable ! It is ideally located for the station - only 2 minutes walk away - and there are plenty of cafes etc nearby even a Mcdonalds over the road if you want alternative breakfast.
