Friends reunitedPosted Mar 3, 2014
Stayed at the pentahotel with three friends and two children. We just wanted to catch up and this was a great place to do it. Lovely leisurely breakfast on Sunday - great selection and good quality food. The late check out on Sunday was very welcome as we didn't have to rush to pack up and check out and the hotel were accommodating in making two of the rooms interconnecting which was a help in the evening as the children could sleep while we chatted next door. The bar was fun too - but rowdy at all. Close to the oracle for dinner in the evening and shopping in the day. All this and a bargain price too - I'd definitely recommend.

Ok hotelPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Decent facilities, comfortable room, good value
Cons: Free WiFi is pointless as it is completely unusable. Full English breakfast is also very over priced and not very nice at all, avoid
Location: Central location
Decent location, near the centre of town. Good clean room, with a decent bed. Helpful staff, willing to help when required.

The good reviews are completely justified!Posted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: There was such a nice ambience when we entered this hotel, it is modern, clean and friendly and we really were wowed.
Cons: I don't even have any constructive criticism, our stay exceeded our expectations.
Location: 5min walk to The Hexagon where we went to see the Panto. 5min walk to pedestrianised shopping area and a leisurely 10min walk to train station.
After reading this hotels reviews, I was quite sure it was going to be fine but the negative reviews had planted a seed of doubt. Upon arrival, two reception staff were present and the lady dealing with us was really pleasant and gave clear instructions/information. There was a negative review about the lifts taking a long time to arrive and only one of two was working, although one lift was out of order, I never experienced waiting any length of time other than how long it would normally take to travel between floors in the 3 days we were here. The room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and we didn't mind looking through the drawers to find the kettle and tea making facilities. The beds felt luxurious to us and we slept so well we had trouble getting up! The tv had a built in alarm which worked perfectly but I didn't find it the easiest to set up for the first time, really simple once I figured it out though. Perhaps a little manual would be advantageous for those of us not quite up on our technology. Breakfast was delicious, there was an abundance of choices and the hot food was 'hot'. I absolutely loved staying in this hotel and my daughter said this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. I wish we could have stayed longer but we hope to return again. Well done Penta Hotel

Pros: The rooms were ok.
Cons: More staff.

Nice hotel, comfy roomsPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Pretty happy with the experience at the hotel. Reception is very nice and the rooms are comfy. Only slight negative was that the staff i dealt with were a little disappointing. No real warm welcome and on exit left waiting a while as the staff chatted. They were not rude, just a little cold and expressionless.Would still recommend the hotel though.
